How’s the little Peavey? What’s the wattage on that little guy? Must get some nice power amp distortion from it.

like, almost Johnny Depp Willy Wonka-eylol, did this image disturb anyone else?
I always thought of Robert Smith at the time. That depressed look with lipstick. Maybe a tribute to Just Like Heaven?
That shoot, he looked un-J

Dr Z Route 66June 28, 2007 at 10:36 am in reply to: whats the different between big muff and guild foxy lady ped #129740A bit tipsy last night, I recorded the following:
http://www.rinaldidoetsch.com/music/OutThere.mp3″>http://www.rinaldidoetsch.com/music/OutThere.mp3
It showcases clean, Big Muff with Tone Engaged (1 o’clock on the tone), Big Muff with Tone Bypassed, The AshBASS FuzzBrite (Guild Foxy Lady Copy), and some sloppy riffing on a Fuzz Probe.
June 27, 2007 at 4:30 pm in reply to: whats the different between big muff and guild foxy lady ped #129738You have 3 days to bid on the Big Muff I recommend. It’s older with no LED but has the tone bypass switch. I use the pedal with the tone bypassed most of the time.
Price is still $90 but already bid on

June 20, 2007 at 8:18 am in reply to: whats the different between big muff and guild foxy lady ped #129736I am not too sure why there is much discussion here. I think it is plain and simple…
J Uses Big Muff, so get a big muff. This also makes sense economically because the new Big Muffs are very reasonably priced.
June 14, 2007 at 9:23 pm in reply to: whats the different between big muff and guild foxy lady ped #129731I currently own the Mamoth and though it is bassy, the Big Muff is better for guitar. Remember, the more bassy, the more likely to get lost in the mix. Muff is nice midrange. Besides, a mammoth is $300.
I’ve owned the Frantone Sweet which is very overdriven and not any better than the Muff. I’ve also owned the Zvex Octane 3 but again that too got lost in the mix. I sold them. Nice but not worth $200+
The Zvex Fuzz Factory is more distorted than the big muff but even more midrange. It’s more than twice as much than the Muff so again. I really love the FF and it’s my main pedal.
Also, the Muff feeds back BIG TIME. If you like that go for it. If not maybe save the $200 for a Fuzz Factory
I think with your tase and budet it only makes sense to get a Big Muff. You can even find a classic one from the 1980’s on eBay for under $100.
June 6, 2007 at 9:22 pm in reply to: whats the different between big muff and guild foxy lady ped #129725J plays a Big Muff. I think that is enough said WRT J’s sound.
In my opinion, the BM is a more versitile pedal. Really only one sound out of the Mosrite. Though it is highly usable. It was also used by the Ventures.
Not sure how much a Foxy Lady pedal is, but I bought this copy of the Mosrite pedal and its bright, crisp and cuts through a mix like a rhino. Not too pretty by itself though.
They can be found on eBay too.
This link gives a good history of Big Muff versions over the years. It also answers my question of when the tone bypass models existed. 1978-1980. Woo Hoo. Classic Rock.

"darren " wrote:I think when J has been playing this live, he uses standard tuning with a capo at the 5th fretWow, I’ll have to check that out next time I play.
My biggest concern, knowing that information, is the low D note during the palm mute stuff. Wth standard capo on 5th fret tuning, is J playing the D palm mute an octave higher than I’ve noted above? It sure seems like my E string tuned down to D is the right note. i.e. is it D 5th fret A string?
I also failed to note the g,f#,d lick at the end of the chorus.
I also forgot to do the "hold on" etc vocal section during the fast part right before they drop into the final slow section/solo.
I’ll add that to my original post when I get the chance.

My guess is the magenta pedal is some delay.
