shit…that is bad.
shit…that is bad.
Surfcaster is too quiet…lipstick pickups are not for ROCK. Looks pretty damn fly though.
Celica? Little?
thought they were quite large n’ powerful?!
Oh I’m jealous too ‘cos you have BIG mountains in Canada.
c’ya
wonder if he thinks the same about Green Mind?
would Lou slap him if he did?
where are Sebadoh?
hello there.
a bit more about me me me….
graduated in 97 with BSC American Studies
not easy to find decent work so I’ve been Admin, office chump for a few years then a database designer, a semi-web designer now a researcher, information officer and Apple Mac Afficionado.
work bores – sorry
currently enjoying playing gigs…I have a solo gig on 9th July at a bar callled Centro in manchester…I will be playing guitar and other instruments through my Line 6 delay modeler/samplerand other effects pedals..just overlaying loops and semi-improvising and attempting to make my SG sound like a whole band or something…should be fun.
looking for a new job…I wanna be able to save £3000 before December so I can disappear for 4 months snowboarding over the winter…probably in the French Alps (though I haven’t ruled out North America…I can however use the car if I go to the Alps.
The Car = A Volvo 440 1.8SEi = my second baby (next to my SG). Bought her last year. She does 110 mph easily…I like that!!!
see ya.

Hand It Over is a great album.
in my opinion.
having the ability to create fearsome noise is another key to a happy guitarist…and being able to solo over anything, that’s my favorite thing…it bugs the hell out of everyone else though.
got a few bits n’ bobs
Gibson SG (late 70s) EH Hot Tubes, EH Electric Mistress, EH Big Muff, MOrely Wah wah, Dunlop Crybaby, Boss Flanger, Boss Turbo Distortion, Boss Digital Metalizer, all this goes into either my Marshall VS 80 watt, H & H Bass amp 150 watt or this crappy 15 watt K Keyboard amp, or alternaively straight into the Roland digital 8 track.
almost forgot my latest best friend is a Line 6 Delay Modeler (excellent)
also got a westone thunder II guitar (too heavy – weight that is), a suzuki acoustic my dad gave me (very nice) and a banjo.
see ya.
good topic…it’s nice to see what people are listening to. My recent listens are thus:
Zombies – Odessey and Oracle – great.
Carlos Santana and John MacCloughlin – Love, Devotion… – got it on saturday second hand, Coltrane trax and originals…awesome.
Alice Cooper – Killer – Halo of Flies is amazing.
Limp – Guitarded – had to buy for the cover – kinda generic in an emocore Dag Nasty stylee. Kinda like this shit over the summer. TRhough I always feel I need a Snowboard strapped to my feet whilst I listen to this Hardcore, punk kinda stuff.
Papa M – Papa M Sings – I love David Pajo’s stuff, whatever happened to Brian Mcmahan??
those are recent purchases…
my general playlist always includes the following (I listen to most of my music in the car on Tape):
Neil Young – On the Beach (beautiful – Neil at his best)
Sabbath – Sabotage (tremendous)
Blue Oyster Cult – Tyranny… (rockin’)
Dinosaur – my BUG/Green Mind tape (nuff said)
Minutemen – all albums
Firehose – Raging full on
Minor threat – all stuff
All – Allroys Revenge
Beefheart – Trout Mask Replica
Parliment/Funkadelic – as always on my mind
various techno and electronic things from germany and detroit.shit I listen to all sorts all the time.
this morning I listened to Sister by Sonic Youth on my way to work…it put me in the correct deconstructed state of mind.
I need an egg on toast.
see ya.
It seems you got a similar crowd to Manchester..everyone went wild when they played the Stooges…I think it was badly promoted but people saw that Ron Asheton was on and it was they who turned up…no one seemed to know any of the Fog stuff either.
Martin and Me
this album is only good if you saw that tour (which I did). It’s one of those sort of "ahhh I remember that Lynyrd Skynyrd song now.." experiences…in it’s own right it’s not well recorded and a bit over ambitious. I reckon it was a Warners thing..cashing in on something that not many people got to see. Also Reckon J isn’t a fan of it.
Incidently the guy (Kurt Fedora) who played with him on that tour also did a bit of an acoustic set when they played Manchester and did a tremendous version of Nick Drake’s "Things Behind the Sun" (I would love to hear that again).
Without a Sound is the worst studio album..it’s ashame ‘cos half the tracks are absolutely ace.
*thinks he’ll listen to it tonight*
I don’t think they’ll be another single…if there is it’s unlikely to be Sameday ‘cos it’s been available as an official MP3 from City Slang’s website for the past 8 months. I still reckon it’s the best trak on the LP though…the whole things a good romp though…I can see why people don’t like Where’d you go ‘cos it sounds like it’s been played before…it’s sort of Get Me again.
I own Green Mind on Vinyl…as I do all the other Dino releases…I can tell you that my local vinyl emporium gets copies in all the time and they’re usually about £4.49 which is probably about $6.25.
so I suggest you get over to Manchester UK for some vinyl treats.
In reply to Alison.
as in glasgow they played about 7 Stooges songs…not NO FUN…we got REAL COOL TIME instead and then finished with Freak Scene.
that piccy is when they were doing I WANNA BE YR DOG and the one with what arm round him is LOOSE.
