"Jade" wrote:Is this a limited to a 1,000 pieces- tour only single? Someone on ebay is stating this and i was quite curious.
I’m not sure of the number but yes it was tour only USA…..
As was I don’t want to go there(live/pitchfolk session) – Although in the UK this came with the vinyl of Farm (But on white vinyl instead of the US black copy)Over it was also limited to 500 on white vinyl, But this was commercially available.
These are the only releases off Farm so far and all were 7" vinyl only.
I just got mine (and for folks in the UK I got it brand new off amazon for £12.)
My thoughts….
I’m not the best player, But I think this book really helps (someone like )me as its broken down into really good detail…..Also has a guitar notation legend (I’m sure most do!?) at the back that explains all the tab.
Plus lryics/Chords and the original music notation on a staff. So I think if your a good player already then you probably just need the basic tab off line and you can work out the rest yourself…However if your at a lower level like me I think this is a good investment….Plus its purple and shiny…..
Hope this helps.
Credit to mind glow! Thanks dude…..

Ok, Got it big thanks!
Some truly awful karaoke coming up later as I swing around my jazzmaster………….. Just wish I had long hair still
As anyone got the dinosaur jr farm instrumental tracks ? If so can they get it on freesofree please or as a torrent somewhere( As this was never released I can’t see anything wrong with file sharing on this one!?? )
I know I should buy one but 25 quid is a little to much.

Yea, I’ve postulated all this time…… I just assumed because the ‘Out there’ CD single had a picture of J’s dad on the front and stickers of him plus It sounds to me like a song about someone passing away!
(Strange, But I find myself wondering if the picture of his dad was not on the front would I have thought the song was about death
?- This puts a new spin on the album!)"kbrechin" wrote:I get the feeling that "Where You Been" is a break-up album as so many of the songs seem to be referencing a passed relationship i.e Out There, What Else Is New, Get Me! Could anyone please shed some light on this to be correct? To be honest god knows what J is banging on about most of the time, But Where you been(esp’ out there) is heavily influenced by his dad passing away. I’ve said it before(as many have to) The production is awesome on this album but very dark & moody, The album always conjures up the image of thuderstorms to me – not sure why….It is my favourite album of ALL time.
"Frenchboy" wrote:I wish a new album with :– Vocals in "More Light" (album)
– Melodic Songs like "Beyond" (album)
– Lead parts from "Green Mind" (album)
– Rythm parts from "Farm" (album)
– Instruments experiences just like "Hand it Over" (album)Anyone agree ?!

I would only change ‘lead parts’ to Where you been and also add the production from where you been, I love the overall feel to that record.
But the rest agree, especially the bit about hand it over, I like the experimentation of instruments and wish J would throw some more piano & trumpet (or even banjo
)down on tracks, It worked so well, I’m insane would scare me if someone described it to me before I heard it, But to me its the standout track on the album.Awesome ! – I LOVED beyond and found Farm great, But there are no standout tracks for me…..
Pick me up/We’re not alone and What if I knew are I think some of the best stuff J/dino has Ever done,
I struggle to pick a classic from Farm…Although I jog along to it most days. With that in mind, I wonder – knowing – that this album was coming J might hold back some songs rather than (in my opinion) stuff Farm with all the gems…
Very cynical I know

Lou is transcribing lyrics and breaking down financials of the band over there at Loobiecore. It’d be nice to get J’s side of things. At this point, I’d settle for Kyle ("J’s chosen one on drums") or Noel in here giving us updates. Seems like Lou is the voice of the band facing the Internet Any man that made a song mocking ‘Thumb’ is a man that I’m looking at with a squinted eye. It’s rather well documented he hates J’s lyrics and is an "employee" of J’s. I just think a lot of us would really like to get the info directly from J. When Lou tells people J makes 50% and that he and Murph make 25% each I wonder what use that has to offer other than to stir up trouble….
I mean in a way it’s ultra awesome that Lou is interacting with his side of the fence but I take it all with a grain of salt. It really would be nice to hear thingsupdates from J directly. I’m a dreamer huh?
Oh and get well Murph!
what, you think Lou is making shit up to "stir up trouble" ? Give me a fucking break. Frankly, I don’t think J gives a flying fuck about anyone on "his" forum or feels that he owes anything to anyone.
Its a fair point, Just because J does not blog about his life doesn’t mean everything Lou says is gospel.
I love Lou’s forum and the way he interacts with people, But if you take everything from one side then thats a little myopic…"Chicago_Fog" wrote:MAN! I wish J would duck in here and talk to us the way Lou does over at Loobiecore.I second that! -Just the odd update or answewr…… unfortunately Fender don’t make computers.
Cool ! Thats a good site….I didn’t know there was a video for thumb….So that was a sweet suprise!

The Purple Wagon was the hardest most expenisve one for me so far… I paid £70 for a mint one.
"mind_glow" wrote:Another thing here.I got another 7".
Side A is with a band called UT and Dinosaur is on the other side with Bulbs of Passion. It’s Blast First. Catalog no BFDJ 5 A. Released 1989.
The only info on the sleeve is some strange text and at the bottom:
"First page of first Vorticist Manifesto from Blast no.1 20 June 1914Yea, I have that listed….I’m 99% sure its part of a boxset of 7" records….dino/sonic youth etc…
