You guys be sure to post a lot about them so I can live vicariously through you!!Oh, man, that’s horrible. Hopefully there’s a fall tour and you can make a show on that. I’ll get you a sticker or something.
To be fair, the Pixies did NOT sell out their one Norfolk show last year. They sold out both DC shows first day, but not Norfolk. Norfolk sells out rarely, and with Carrboro a few hours down the road with Superchunk opening, I bet alot went to that.
All and all, it doesn’t matter – the NorVa is the best venue on the east coast, the sound and sights will be great, and if there’s only 500 people, all the more room and less pushing. Fun for all.
Jeremiah – you going to Norfolk, per chance? I’ll be at Cat’s cradle, norva, and 9:30. Cheers!
"anthony" wrote:does anyone have any extra norva tickets for sale?
i’m looking to buy one.
they’re not sold out yet though.i’m also looking for a place to crash saturday night in norfolk for free…
I can’t help you on places to crash, but you should definitely be able to get tickets at the door. My little brother called the other day and asked if I was going and if he could go, and of course I said yes, and when I went to ticketmaster to buy him a ticket, there was only like 350 sold, and the place holds well over 1200. So, in typical Norfolk fashion, tickets will be available at the door and plenty of room for all.
Awesome venue if you’ve never been. Super sound system and a well-experienced local taper is bringing his rig so hopefully we get a GREAT boot.
"ammaringnyc" wrote:On ticketmaster it says very special guests just on the VA show. That venue is just down the road from me, and they often put tickets on sale before they know the openers. It is their standard practice to put "special guests" on every ticket, when in fact, the openers are 99.9999% of the time the exact same as the rest of the tour.
If you search "norva" on ticketmaster, you’ll see what I’m referring to.

April 8, 2005 at 4:34 pm in reply to: Seems like Dinosaur will be REALLY playing at Spaceland… #108506I would love to see a tour like that. Fog opening for Dino. Wonder if J could pull double duty every night?
Thanks for news of the pre-order bundle. I will DEFINITELY buy that Friday, especially since at $33, that’s the price I was thinking I’d pay for just Dinosaur and YLAOM.
I think the sets would be mostly first three albums, but I would expect to see later hits like The Wagon, Out There, etc. Doubtful on Feel The Pain. Extremely doubtful (it being a Dino Jr. reunion) of j solo or lou’s songs.
February 28, 2005 at 1:19 pm in reply to: DINOSAUR JR REUNION THIS SUMMER (??? – POSSIBLY…!) #107150Pitchfork "breaking" news:
Dinosaur Jr., one of the most legendary indie rock bands of the 80’s, are reuniting to play the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan with shows in the UK to follow. The BBC reports that the embattled duo of J. Mascis and Lou Barlow will perform together for the first time in 15 years. Ongoing feuding between the two spurred Barlow to leave the band after the release of their third album, Bug, in 1988 in order to focus on his work with Sebadoh. The 1990s saw Barlow’s greatest success with the Folk Implosion and the unexpected top 40 hit "Natural One". Dinosaur Jr. briefly went on hiatus after Barlow’s departure and reformed in 1991. The group permanently disbanded after 1997’s Hand It Over, at which time Mascis moved on to form The Fog. That group’s More Light– released in 2000 and featuring guest appearances from Kevin Shields and Robert Pollard– was hailed as a return to form.
No U.S. dates have been set, nor has anyone at Merge confirmed the reunion. The original lineup recorded three albums together, including the widely influential You’re Living All Over Me, which are set to be reissued with bonus material via Merge on March 22.February 24, 2005 at 3:51 pm in reply to: DINOSAUR JR REUNION THIS SUMMER (??? – POSSIBLY…!) #107140"Javro" wrote:confirmed for donnington festival, just no date.fuck me.
