Yeah, they were all "dirty" alternative rockers, for some reason.
I saw that. Liz Phair gave them all titles and he was the "dirty, mumbling alternative rocker of 1993."

Randall’s Island was the only show on the tour that was selling well. It was also the only show on the tour with the Pixies. Draw your own conclusions.
"king of carrot flowers" wrote:hey jaron, where are you going to see mm/bss?Virginia Beach, they’re playing a small ampitheatre (no, really, it’s a small ampitheatre and total GA) show there 8/19 for $20. Also, the next day Sonic Youth/Wolf Eyes is playing The Norva for $25. And since Virginia Beach is about an hour closer to me then Baltimore, it’s all good since those are the three acts (Modest Mouse, BSS, Sonic Youth) I wanted to see most and it’d work out to the same price as a Lolla ticket.
I was going to buy tickets, but hadn’t yet. You know, one thing Perry might have neglected to think about is, alot of us "Lollapalooza kids" have grown up to become "Lollapalooza adults" with the full time jobs that accompany such things. For me to take two days off of work (like I’d have to to attend the Thursday/Friday shows locally) would require alot of effort, and frankly it just wasn’t going to happen. I was planning on going to the day one show with Modest Mouse/Morrisey/Sonic Youth, but like so many others, hadn’t bought tickets because whether I could go or not depended on work situations 2 months from now.
I think Lollapalooza 2005 (if such a thing goes down) should try to be all weekends in maybe 8 cities and since the lineups would be so good with so few dates, it’d be sort of like a mini-Coachella that people would travel to. It’d work alot better.
All and all, I wish it hadn’t gotten cancelled, but Modest Mouse/Broken Social Scene had an off-fest date that they say they’re honoring, so I’m heading to that. Oh well.
I’d call people on the message board freaksceners or freakscensters.
Fans in general? Mascis-ites.
Congrats!

Stellastarr* – S/T
Broken Social Scene – You Forgot It In People
The Postal Service – Give Up
Something Corporate – North (OK, it’s horribly lame, but it’s for the girlfriend)
Dinosaur Jr. – Ear Bleeding Country
Pavement – Slanted & Enchanted, and a mix tape I madeThe only reason I logged in today was to post a thread in memorium; glad to see I was beat to the punch.
I apoligize, this is an idiot on a DC-area music forum I post on. He’s been arrested like 3 times for drugs and statutory rape and stuff.

The prospect of a J. & The Fog tour with Watt makes me a happy ELJ!

J. needs to drop one tour date per month. It’d keep things exciting.
