yeah, that would be cool, indeed
first row would be cool, but I hope there would be more than just a few people there have been some hints during the last weeks that there might be a European solo acoustic tour in the fall, so we maybe just have to be patient…
hey Anthony,
the Japanese issue has got two bonus tracks:
‘No Way’ and a 15 min. live version of Alone with J together with Ron Asheton
The titles of the bonus tracks are not printed on the cover and there are a few seconds of silence between the "original CD" and the two last tracks, so I assume, those two tracks won’t be part of the regular CD.hey NirvanaRist,
the new album isn’t out here in Germany, yet.
City Slang will release it in Europe on October 14th.Like Deco told us, the record is already released in Japan. He posted a link to a Japanese site
( HMV Japan ) earlier in this thread, where everyone can order the record, as they deliver worldwide (press the "English"-button, then it works fine). The price of the record is 2500 Yen, the amount for shipping to Europe is 2500 Yen, either, and the charge for packing is 250 Yen, so in total it’s an amount of 5250 Yen (about 43 Euros, if I got it right, but I think it was totally worth it )
thanks a lot Nancy Boy – funny name, btw
LOL, Jaron & ‘sludge, you both are really crazy
you let the ‘Freedom’ flag fly – everywhere, around the world?! hey Allison, hope you obtain your copy soon
the delivery is really fast, considering the long distances… fine that it worked ok for you, too, RD Of course I’ve heard of George Berz and WATT before , and Watt wrote a lot about Eric Fisher ("tour boss") Noel Ford ("soundman"), Tim the Dancer ("helper man") and Steve Kaul ("the man outside the van") in his More Light tour diaries
I remember the J feature on the Monster cable site (it seems to be removed, couldn’t find it anymore); "Andy + Marshall" could therefore refer to Marshall amps – ?
A lot of of the other names show up on the More Light cover, too: Thom Monahan, Dan McLoughlin, Mark Allen Miller, John Agnello, Steve Kaul, Marcia
And it’s true, John Petkovic and Don Depew & Mark Klein seem to be associated with Cobra Verde (John Petkovic is their frontman, actually)
aaargh, after much practising with this dull reflex tester I achieved 17 seconds! And their unimpressed comment was: ‘nice’ got to find out what they’ll say, when I react in an even better time…
don’t understand what they mean with addictive, though
Maybe some of that magic coffee could improve my reflexes [edit] 0,17 seconds of course [/edit]

awww, this means that I have to get up early on Sunday (is 10:30 a.m. early?)
thanks for the info, Jeremiah, really looking forward to it
hey sludge, thanks for the time zone link, I wasn’t sure about the time difference from here to London due to all those daylight saving alterations
quote:
… plays the noisiest acoustic guitar I’ve ever heard.

exactly
hey SludgeFeast, thanks for the link, it’s a nice, but small review. And it’s a shame that none of the other media seemed to notice the gig….
Let’s hope that all of those guest list people were journalists in disguise who were there to promote J’s new album, soon hey Allison,
the booklet that came with the CD has about 14 pages. the first 3 pages are in Japanese, only some words are recognizeable (like "Ear bleeding country"), so it seems to be a kinda Bio.On the following pages, there are the full lyrics, in Japanese and in English
(due to my "lyrics phoby" I didn’t look at them closer, yet)I think that it’s the Japanese label "Ponycanyon" who publishes those lyrics booklets there (like they did for More light in Japan, too).
The official liner notes go as following:
Recorded at Bob’s Place
Engineered by Mark Allen Miller, Steve Revitte
Thom M??? (sorry, cool lettering but hard to read – like usual ), Don Depew
Mixed By John Agnello, m???ed (sorry again) by Greg Gilbi at Sterling Sand
Cover Paintings Neil Blender, inside photos Phillip Virus
Musicians include Tony Jarvis Wurly on 2+5, Don Depew slide on 2+5
John Petrovic vocals on 3,4,6, Dan Mcglaughlin (???) Wurly 8, Mark Klein Percussion 7Thanks
Jim Klar + Monster Cable, Dean Markely, Amy + New Balance
Geoffrey Teese, Zildjian, Andy + Marshall, George Berz, Erick Fisher, David Shyde, Matt Showball, Tim the Dancer, Noel Ford, Bill Beasley, Mike McCoy, Steve Kaul, Marcia Hyman, WATT does anyone know these people ???
And it’s Ron Asheton, who plays guitar on the bonus track (live version of Alone) because J shouts that at the end of the song. This version definitely adds some new dimensions to the song
All in all I’m still perfectly happy with the record and don’t mind the money
WOOO HOOO HOOO I’ve got it
thanks tons, deco
I’m not really sure if I could recommend this way to get it, though. I paid the same amount for the CD and for shipping still got no idea how much I paid exactly … but you need some luxury, then and when and while listening to that beautiful music I definitely don’t regret anything
There are those two bonus tracks and it has got a booklet with all lyrics, too … SludgeFeast, AndrewD, kockney thank you very much for the reviews!!!
I just wish he would play some more European gigs…the song is growing every time I’m listening to it. It’s way not that simple as it appers on the first listen, many things to discover, very catchy guitar tune & I like the repetitiveness of it, too
thanks a lot for the hint, KMB & Tom
hey Robert,
it’s true, the translation wouldn’t pass the censorship…
I think I’ll rather send you a PM with the details… Tocotronic is one of the very very few German bands, which I can stand… their music is nice, unpretentious and intelligent… and they seem to have a good taste in music, either
solo, acoustic …sounds somehow familiar
maybe he will also come over to Europe??? -
