hi NirvanaRist, welcome
I will take a look at amazon uk round the end of September. I think the chances are quite good, that they (or another British site) will have itAs there were a lot of good ideas here for some reasonable conversions, I just wonder what to take to replace the Oasis/Blur-"Britpop" (yeah: look, what they’ve done to it! )
I would give their ignorant fans some Wedding Present for the "British" guitars, some JAMC for the darker input and some Smiths for several good whines (personally, I’m not at all against some good whines – just think about the cathartic effects! )hey dB, dankeschön for the review!
yes, rain sucks on festivals (funny pics!), but seems you had some fun, though.hey dB, thanks again for that great link!
I didn’t manage to record it, but with some nice company it was big fun hey, I found some more tour dates on the Ultimatum site (here):
10/18 Cleveland, OH Grog Shop
10/23 Portland, OR Blackbird
10/24 Seattle, WA Tractor Tavern
10/25 San Francisco, CA Bottom of the Hill
10/26 Los Angeles, CA The Roxy
hope to find some more European tour dates, soon!
hey, you can find a discussion about recording video streams here , but I don’t know if it is useful for live streams, too…
Thanks dB! I’ll look out for it!!!
Central European Summer time is 6 hours ahead of FreakScene time, if this is of any help. In America the time of the show will be on Saturday afternoon.
3:55 – 4:55 p.m. FreakScene time, if I got it right. To those who have the luck to see the show/ the festival: Have lots of fun, enjoy it, take care of your ears and pleease inform us, how it was
Hey, good topic
too many of my favorite bands don’t exist anymore …I start feeling old
right Salami, there are the Hüsker Dü, there are further the Pixies and Pavement.
I especially miss the Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine
(I never heard that they really broke up, but they never proved the opposite, either)
And the big hereoes of my teenage years, the Gun Club (raw, fast C&W and Blues inspired punk rock) had to split because their leader, Jeffrey Lee Pierce died in 1997 Many more of the bands I once listened to broke up, but these are the ones I really enjoy to listen to steadily
hey ammaring,
thanks tons for the great effort
To read your detailed descriptions mellows the pain of waiting a bit (but it still hurts )hey Ammaring, thanks a lot for continuing with your ‘column’
But, what do you think about the studio version of ‘Everybody lets me down’? Some words to drop about Tracks 9 and 10, ‘Say the Word’ and ‘Outside’?
Would be really great Maybe you could say something to Jasper’s question in the Community Announcement forum, too:
quote:
how come Mr. City Slang talks about "11 new and electrifying songs" while only 10 appear on the tracklist? Are there ten or eleven new songs on "Free So Free"? The listening audience needs to know!

So, how many songs are on the record you’ve got?
Do you have the original sleeve? Are there any credits for other musicians? Any credits for studio works? some other things I forgot to ask, but worthwhile to mention?
there is still much material for your column
Well, you’ve got the record we all want to have, so… I hope you understand that I’m insisting here… I just can’t wait…
thank you in advance Hey Malcom, personally, I wouldn’t have the feeling to be engaged that much just because of a ride… (…and you didn’t even ask for it!)
If I get a ride by someone, yeah, I’m grateful and kind to the person, but then I would decide to walk my way if I wanted to – not feeling arrested by that person/group, especially if I didn’t know them well or like them much, or if they chose to ignore me hey, deepsludge! Now, that wasn’t a good ride back home! but it seems, you took it with humour
hey, cool! it’s meant for a promo CD, isn’t it?
I like the back cover, too – looks somehow familiar
which tracks of the 2002 tour would you suggest?
Everybody let me down, of course me being ironic I would love to put my greedy fingers on it, of course!

In my stereo right now: Built to Spill – Ancient Melodies of the Futurehey ammaring, thank you very much for sharing those first impressions
What do you think about the other songs?
Oh, I’m just a bit jealous … -
