thanks a lot, jeifer! highly appreciated

I included it in the tab collection aboveso interesting to hear that Watt is aware of Freakscene, and that he might even stop by once… how cool would that be!

great you enjoyed the show, Mattman, thanks for the review
thanks

I wish I would have been clever enough to do this in summer when I could have the windows open all day and night. But nowadays it’s too cold for that, although I try to have then open as long as I can bear.
but nevertheless it’s getting slightly better (or at least I try to talk myself into it…
)happy thirties, Javro!

I’m definitely amazed by getting my money back

…yeah, the sound is kinda the main thing about it, but I also like the songs on the new Soulwax-album. Isn’t the song "a ballad to forget" heartbrakingly beautiful? I also liked the previous album, but the new one also works great for me

…last night I saw: Kid & Khan: just by accident I found out only yesterday afternoon that "Kid" is actually Kid Congo Powers
the guitar legend of Gun Club, Cramps and Bad Seeds fame, doing a weird trash dancefloor project together with the German Electronica guy "Khan" aka Can Oral.
as the club is just around my corner, I thought it was a funny idea to check out what Kid Congo is doing nowadays.it was a weird show, basically it was electronic dance music coming out of a machine (to be modified by Khan in a virtuoso manner) and the two guys, who were hopping around on stage, singing/shouting and joking around. very obviously they had a lot of fun. then and when Kid Congo took one of the guitars and played some very unique and characteristic sounds, but in this surrounding these sounds added to the electronic landscape. In the best moments it had Fall quality.
in the end they even did the Cramps’ "Goo Goo Muck", although the song was more quoted than seriously played, the guitar was enjoyble
🙂It was great to see Kid Congo being so full of energy, having a lot of fun with what he’s doing. and it was a very interesting occasion for me to explore the electronic underground music scene…
I even talked some words with Kid, and he’s just such a nice and funny guy.
I’m glad that I went
…maybe J and Luisa move over to Germany now?
Watt wrote in his tour diary about J making plans like that 4 years ago, in case GWB would win the election: J&the Fog tour diary 2000, Page 3wow, what a "hell" of decoration
 ….frighteningly wonderful!
looks like it was a great party! thanks for the link, Mattman
hey jeifer, great to see another long time fan finding this site

welcome here! hope you like it here and feel "at home"
did you have the chance to see J last year or this year, when he was touring Australia?
great experience, when you go to a gig, and surprisingly find the support act to be great, too (or even greater than the main act)

last Sunday I saw Soulwax, a Belgian electronic rock band. In a way it was foreseeable what to expect, they played a lot out of their great new album, and they rocked all through the set

they came with at least 4 keyboards, and the drummer often only played some cymbals over the electronic stomp, so the basis of the music is clearly electronic, but what’s really amazing is the fat and rough guitar sound which comes alongside the electronics, and which adds to a very danceable, rocking sound. I was kinda sure that they’re a great live band, and I was definitely right.
…right on my way to the gig I was goofy enough to lose my purse with all money, underground season ticket, company ID …and the show tickets

well, my company was so nice to take me in, luckily it wasn’t sold out.
I would have never thought of getting my things back, but today the nice finder called me in the company to tell me where I could meet him to get my stuff
nothing was missing and he refused to take anything for it. …still overwhelmed!
:):)aww, Halloween in the emergency room, no fun indeed!

good to hear you’re recovering well
cool, that’s an extra motivation to take a closer look at that dvd

right now, I’m in the process of having my flat painted, so the dvd is sowhere in the pile of things in the middle of my room, but when everything is sorted again (hopefully soon), I’ll take another effort to get it running

Nightmare Before Christmas …I’m totally charmed by its tragic beauty
the german translation is irritating, though. I do have the original dvd, but I didn’t manage to run it on my pc… no patience so far to check region code etc.I’ll keep all my fingers crossed, that things will go well for you & Oscar, Annastefka!!!

keep us posted!October 28, 2004 at 3:29 pm in reply to: My Neighbours Should Pay Me For Playing This Great Music #99965I’m on a Soulwax diet these days, as I’ll go to their show on Sunday

I’m curious how they will be as a live band, but I’m almost sure, it won’t be bad.funny, but on their new album ‘Any Minute Now’, there is a song (called: Please… Don’t Be Yourself), which kept me thinking and thinking all day long what other song it sounds like… finally my mind came up with… Poledo

I listened to Poledo again, and it’s true, Lou should be getting royalties…

hehe, that’s exactly what I use to think, when it comes to that part of the song… but I usually keep my pace
