very interesting news!

so we’ll look out for the new Mew album, when it will come out in September. can’t wait to hear the song, as J adds also vocals, not guitar as he does more often on cooperation tracks. and the Mew album sounds interesting to check out. curious now
thankfully garrrr watches the setlists for us and has his concert chronology site very up to date: Severed Lips

hey Leah, thanks for the setlist!

No Bones, yeah! I was always thinking they did another Bug song quite at the beginning, so No Bones as second song makes sense.
But Gargoyle was somewhat earlier in the set, I’m quite sure it was the 3rd song, and Little Fury Things came right after Raisans. And I swear they played the Lung as the 4th song, because I was trying to read J’s lips because of the breathes/breeds question (still not sure, but I’m tending to "breeds" now)
so this shows that the band doesn’t always keep to the printed setlists

yeah, we were at the Modey Lemon aftershow party at the Mudd Club. the Mudd Club turned out to be a quite nice club, although there weren’t many people except of the band. I was too distracted by the Dino show & too tired to have a chat with the band, though.
…any J related gig would be cool to meet again w/ you guys

hey Aatos, good that you’re in Germany these days and you had the chance to catch that show. now that you say it, I also got one of these extremely torn and broken drumsticks. looking on them one can see the power they were used with

and Leah, hope that the pics you took turned out fine …and that we might have the chance to see them, sooner or later
was nice to meet you guys there!
too funny that we were in the same plane to London w/o talking.hehe, but it will take some 15 or 20 years until you reach the middle ages, Aatos

thanks for the setlist & descriptions
"trensidoh" wrote:They played SLUDGEFEAST right after KRACKED, just like on the record, complete with the short feedback bit, and J even had the feedback in the right note !!! Awesome.…now that you say it: they played Kracked/Sludgefeast exactly the same way in Berlin w/out any break.
an additional encore!? lucky guys in Amsterdam!

yeah, seems it’s like that everywhere: professional photographers are only allowed to take pics during the 1st 3 songs. it was the same in London, where the photographers were asked to leave after the 3rd song.
another thing is it with photographing for private use, I guess. particularly nowadays they can’t really keep out all the mobile phone cameras.I don’t know how it is with videotaping for private use, though, as the band has their own video documentation of the shows going.

I never heard that anyone of the band complained about photographing, although aggressive flashlights can be irritating and blinding, so they should always be used with politeness and care.
and of course the policy of the venues on photographing/videotaping are differing.
thanks a lot for the link! very cool to read Murph’s view on things!

I had to look hard to find the pics, maybe because not all parts of the site show with my resolution.

anyway, hope it’s ok to also have the direct link: Rote Raupe Festival pics
cool pics? yeah!!! …besides all others, pic 15 is awsome

cool, thanks for the pics, Annastefka! so now I can say for sure that they were Kevin Sweeney and Kyle Spence

Aatos, it’s true, I keep signed things in a cardboard box and don’t do much with them, but they make me smile even years after. And it’s kind of an easy way of communication, when you don’t know what else to say…
Quote:interminable guitar solo …, which was still sandblasting the venue walls…
cool find, quite a good review

Everybody just wans to have a piece of cake, but nobody wants to bake it… in a way. Recording shows is a real hassle – you have to keep quiet, not dance around otherwise you’ll f%ck up the recording, try to get past the security staff and sneak your gear in, worry about recording levels, transfer all the stuff, travel etc. and nobody appreciates.hey hey, all you said is right but one thing: we do appreciate!!!

It is going to be so cool!!
Flying Cloud should have my ticket!
I’m going to pay it back right away.yeah, I’ve got your ticket here, Aatos

also the bus trip & hostel stay are reserved, so nothing can stop us. too cool that you’re in Germany at a time when Dinosaur Jr are touring here
look at the weather over this w/e: too much rain for enjoying Hurricane, the decision against it might have been wise…
:(:( bummer. that must have been annoying to find out!awww Javro, that was what I forgot in my bag packing action! to get in touch with you to appoint something
hope you recovered well from the gigs
besides of the two overwhelmingly great shows I attended, it was very nice to be in London again, having smoothly warm weather, spending a nice day shopping and strolling around with rambleon
🙂
Also it was my first experience with the low price airline Ryanair, and yeah, you have to bring some extra time to get to these faraway cheap airports they use, and you better bring your own food, instead of buying it expensively on the plane, but apart of that it was ok.best thing I can think of now is that I’ll see Dinosaur Jr again in Berlin on Monday, travelling together with the biggest finnish Dino fan Aatos
