Yeah, Malcolm and his wife. They just closed yesterday. I used to get Husker Du tapes and videos there as well. Very sad.
$12.99 from Borders. Unfortunately the best indie shop around here (Trash American Style in Danbury, CT) just closed, so I had to get it at a chain store (but then I had a gift card too, so thhat was cool).
December 21, 2006 at 12:13 pm in reply to: When You Were Mine…..Your faves Hitting mainstream. #124214Mine was Nick Drake – back in 1992 I always read about musicians (including J Mascis) talking about how much of an influence N.D. was, so at a used CD shop I picked up a Bryter Layter and loved it. At the height of "grunge" though, all my friends were like, "what is this folky shit?" and even the more open-minded were giving back-handed compliments like, "well, at least that drum part there is pretty cool." Then Pink Moon was used in that VW ad and then all those same people, a little older and more mature, had the entire Nick Drake catalog and were just praising it as the greatest thing ever, a new discovery from ages ago, and I was like, "ok, but at least remember how much you hated this music a few years ago."
Raisans and No Bones both get listened to over and over around here.
Espers – II
Sebadoh – III reissue
Sparks – Hello Young Lovers
Bonnie Prince Billy – The Letting GoFriday’s show was awesome! I figured someone would post a complete setlist…I’m not really the person to do that, but these were the songs they played in roughly the order (feel free to rearrange if you remember better than I do).:
Out There
Feel The Pain
This Is All I Came To Do
Little Fury Things
Lou’s New Song
Cats In A Bowl
Raisans
Freak Scene
Forget The Swan
Budge
The Wagon
Kracked
Sludgefeast
~
Tarpit
Lose
Just Like HeavenI think those were all the songs. Best Dinosaur Jr. show I ever went to by far.
looks like I waited too long to buy that ticket for Saturday; ticketweb doesn’t have any more…perhaps at the door I can get one. At least I’m going tonight & am very psyched!Howsabout:
"Have I begun a feeble chase?" (from ‘Raisans’)
Very cool, thanks.
I didn’t vote for any of the new songs; I figure they’ll probably play them anyway. See you at the shows.
Going Friday, maybe Saturday too if I can raise the cash…or if Friday is so amazing and I can still get a ticket on Saturday!

I was thinking Miracle Legion, but that’s the only one I can think of.
With Lou: Raisans
W/o Lou: The WagonYeah, this show was great. I was surprised that the crowd wasn’t moving more, but people were definitely into it, especially by the encore. They were pretty subdued (undersatandably) but it was just so cool to see DInosaur again after so many years. Can’t wait to see them again! Thanks for the pics.
