Thanks for the review. I’m hoping for a good crowd tonight in atlanta. I’m also really hoping to hear pick me up.
I will be at the show tomorrow night. Not sure if i will stick around for the black keys. I’ve heard them before and they are not bad by any means, I just don’t know if i want to check them out.
I will be their for the Dinosaur Jr show though. That is disapointing they won’t be as loud. Not as disapointing as the fact that Dinosaur Jr is opening

either way i’m sure it will be great i’ve never seen a bad J/Dinosaur show.

The abbreviated set would automatically be a let down. The opening slot makes good sense though… It’s a chance to promote the new album to a room full of people that haven’t already bought it. Plus… Dino has been playing The Variety Playhouse on their last couple stops through Atlanta. The Tabernacle is a much bigger room. I’d be pissed if they just played for 30 minutes!I am a little bummed about them being the opening bandfor the Black Keys. I mean the Black Keys are not a bad band but…. i would think Dinosaur jr could headline some shows. I live in ATL too, but i’m not missing this show.
I want to hear the new songs live. I have not heard them before and for that i’m excited. Plus the tabernacle is a great venue! I was at the tabernacle a couple weeks ago and picked up a ticket at the box office for this show. for 15 bucks i can think of worse ways to spend my Thursday night. I bet since only two bands aer playing Dino will play a 45 minute set. I’ll watch a little of the black keys and head out early to beat the traffic out.
Maybe they will headline a tour soon and come back through

Thanks all.
I pulled this info up i think this kind of answers my question:
Mr. Jim O’Rourke decided to concentrate full-time on his Japanese studies of language and film and SY was subsequently back to it’s OG nucleus of Kim-Thurston-Lee-Steve. Songs were written, Jim recommended engineer TJ Doherty and J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr) recommended mix engineer John Agnello and SY created the oddly titled "Rather Ripped". The whole deal was recorded in the waning hours of 05 into the dawn sunshine of 06 at the venerable Sear Sound studios in NYC’s fading theatre district. Partially mixed there and at Hoboken, NJ’s Water Music by the golden juice ear of John Agnello it exhibits SY in positive vibration mode.
A new album will be aweseome!
J’s Facemelting solo’s were on fire. I had a great time at the show. The place was packed. I enjoyed the setlist a lot. Wish i could have heard quest or littler fury things, but i was quite happy with what i got

The show was so much fun!
J was on fire as always. Loved the solo on forget teh swan. THe first encore was Just Like Heaven, Freak Scene, and Sludgefest! It was a really cool show. My first time seeing them all together
I’m off of work in about 45 minutes
that will make everythign a bit easier.
Hell yeah 12 more hours and i’ll be at the show! I just haveto make it through work today

Atlanta July 8th
i’m excited
Thank you for the setlist. It makes me even more excited to see them in about three weeks here in Atlanta

A good freind of mine got me the bridge as a present because i’m a huge neil fan. I must admit i did not like it as much as you guys. I think i would have liked it more if J was singing and not the guy they had doing the "guest" vocals.
The musical part of it is awesome just did not care for the vocals.
Love the flaming lips cover of after the gold rush
I got my tickets today and i’m excited
its gonna rock

I have seen the guys back in the day, inbetween in various forms, and J about 4 times in the past two years so………unlike NCDan, I can take it or leave it. I always believe in supporting the band, I have been spoiled over the past few years. I will sleep on it over the next few days.i personally think you should go for it, i know you have mixed feelings about the whole thing, but i think if you did go youd realize what you would have missed and youd be glad you made went that route. Just my take on it. plus it may be your last chance ever to see j/lou/and murph rock together and theres a good chance we all wouldnt be having these discusions right now if the original dinosaur never happened.
Yeah you should definately go! I mean the base price of the tickets are not bad at all. Mabye a little more then i thought, but not unreasonable it was the extra fees that i thought were unreasonable.
Get yoru ticket now and go see them
its gonna be awesome!Oh I’m definately going
I got my ticket today when they went on sale
I was right on it was the base price plus 3 bucks for a fee from variety playhouse 31.50 total.
I waited and saved 10 bucks
i’m a cheap bastard
