I snagged a couple of pedals — one of the Dunlop CryBaby’s and the Metal Muff. I just got them added to my pedal board today, and can’t wait to spend some time playing them! The prices on those pedals weren’t bad at all, and I love the fact that I get to play through a couple of pedals that J used!
And I’m super jealous of whoever wound up with the purple Fender amp….
I’m loving what I’m hearing of the new album so far. I enjoyed I Bet On Sky quite a bit, but I think I’m enjoying this one quite a bit more after a few listens. There are a couple of songs with a super-heavy groove that I’m loving, and “Left/Right” just may be the best thing Lou has ever done. Super-solid album from start to finish. Hopefully the big bundles will ship soon — I can’t wait to listen to this on vinyl!!
Can’t wait to get my copy of the book…. but has anyone heard if there will be a digital copy of the book offered as well? I would love to have a digital copy to easily take with me while I’m traveling!
Got my big bundle with the signed poster from Transmission Merchandise today….so it’s finally here! And of course, it’s just as awesome as I expected. Now to spin the vinyl for the first time….
September 21, 2012 at 4:47 pm in reply to: I need some help, what kind of record player should i get? #139520I decided to make the jump back to vinyl about a year ago, and I have this turntable that I ordered from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT-LP60-Automatic-Driven-Turntable/dp/B002GYTPAE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1348260285&sr=1-1I have it running through an older Kenwood receiver that I had retired to my office since it doesn’t do surround sound, and I absolutely love the way it all sounds. I’m sure there are better turntables out there, but I have no problem recommending this one for a not-too-expensive first turntable.
Hi folks — first comment here (been a fan since my college years when “Where You Been” was new).
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents as well that I ordered the big pre-order bundle with the signed poster as well, and I haven’t received anything from Transmission Merchandise other than my original PayPal receipt either. I understand that manufacturing, shipping, and all that stuff can take some time and can even be late….but the lack of communication from Transmission Merch is upsetting. If nothing else, a simple mass email to everyone who ordered giving a head’s-up that the package was running late would have been nice. I had a vinyl pre-order from another band a couple of weeks ago that was pushed back due to manufacturing issues, so the company behind that one sent out a digital download of the album to tide us over until the vinyl showed up….I thought that was a very cool gesture. Something as simple as that would have made the wait for this one much better. Instead, I resorted to less-than-legit means to acquire the digital files on release day so I could at least hear the music.Oh well, I guess it’s not that big of a deal….but I wanted to vent for a second. The bundle will get here when it gets here. The good news is that I’m loving the music, and I can’t wait to see the band in Dallas in a few weeks!!
