Thanks to you all for the info.
As for the $8 coupon to get into the show, that sounds almost too good to be true. Where could I get such a coupon and why do people bother buying real tickets in the first place if you can get in for cheaper?
I made the trip from Montreal too.
Really glad I was able to make it – this show really exceeded my expectations. Kudos to the band and crew who put the concert together. Although this was outdoors, it was appropriately very loud and the sound was great. Bravo à l’équipe du Festival d’été – c’était la première fois que j’y allais voir un show et je n’ai pas été déçu.
The band played a very tight set throughout – you wouldn’t think they hadn’t played together in more than 15 years. Seeing Lou strumming Dino chords and hearing him sing his lyrics was especially amazing. Not long ago who would’ve thought we’d get the chance to experience this someday?
Ça fait depuis le début des années ’90 que je suis fan – j’ai 29 ans.
Thanks for the precision regarding Iron Maiden being in town the same night – when Lou said this I didn’t get it. I’m not sure many people got it either when he asked with a show of hands who had lung/yeast(!)/ear infections.
Best moments: In a Jar, Sludgefeast and Forget the Swan. I think Forget the Swan might just be the song that best exploits J and Lou’s talents – both of them sing it and although it’s definitely a Dino song, you can sort of hear some of Lou’s later work in there.
