i filmed that video, must say prolly my favorite dvd i ever took part in making.
some dude from the ween forum just happened to have real good audio of it and when he saw me giving away some copies of the video on the ween forum he contaced me. he synched it up and made menus and stuff, very grateful he did that. the original audio was way blown out all you could really hear was the guitar.
youll notice when they start playing yeah we know the camera shakes.. thats me freaking out over the song haha.
too bad youtube took it down. but yes mpegs of it are up on freesofree.
"hypoluxa " wrote:the first song "Almost Ready" is very old school dino sounding…ive heard a number of people say that and i dont think i really feel that "almost ready" sounds any less latter day than any of the others, in fact it reminds me a bit of the songs on more light. i think "pick me up" and "it’s me" sound old school but i guess just in that they are kinda heavy and dark rockin’. that intro riff to "pick me up" is just so rockin’ i love it although it slows down half way through the song.. i love that as well. i like when the songs go through different speeds. and "its me" is just so ultra rockin’. "we’re not alone" and "crumble" are two that i really dig that that are a bit more mellow, just great rythems and beautiful shit going on.
as for the two lou songs i just think theyre amazing. i loved "back to your heart" right away when i heard it a few times last tour, and "lightning bulb" took me a few listens to really get into but now i love it just as much.
the more i listen to this album the more i love it.
id say "this is all i came to do" is the one to me that kinda screams j + the fog, not in a bad way, hell i love those 2 fog albums (especially more light). "been there all the time" i get the fog feel from that one also. just some observations and opinions.. feel free to attack and leave your own haha.
just checked out the whole show, pretty damn awesome. cant believe what a great choice of songs and stuff. new eric songs sound great, good old school sebadoh feel to em if you ask me. sixteen was extra rockin’ jake threw some bass distortion on there really sounded great and his vocals sounded extra great as well. all 3 members are in great form. real excited for the shows i shall see at the end of this month.
i wonder what songs they’ll play live.
a friend of mine sent me a burned copy in the mail and i couldnt resist once it was in my hands. my evaluation is that i love 7 of the songs and the other 4 are ok, but dont scream to me as much. songs i love:
2) Crumble!!!
3) Pick Me Up!!!
4) Back To Your Heart!!!
7) It’s Me!!!
We’re Not Alone!!!
10) Lightning Bulb!!!
11) What If I Knew!!!i really like tracks 2,3,4,7,8,10 and 11 im kinda suprised that they put up "almost ready" and "been there all the time" on the myspace page. decent songs but i think theres others with alot more power.
youll see me in northampton
that sounds like ana amazing show, i definetely would have gone had i known it was going down
let it ride!
i love the bass solo’s that went down on the J mascis + the fog tours
watts "back before ya go" bass solos were amazing. also "get me" bass solos were allways great with any of the bass players.

so not sure, how old are ya?
yeah i remember asking him personally one time what he thought of the breeders and what he said was along the lines of:
"i never thought the pixies were as big as the hype they got i just thought there was better bands out there. the breeders.. they were better in my head, but i never really went/or go out of my way to put them on.
he said he owned last splash but hadnt listened to it in years haha.
then i remember him also telling me at another show that he heard bone machine and thought "wow this is a really good song" so.. who knows haha.
i wonder if its just j contributing to the album and that why there’s a slash
i know lou was never a big fan of the pixies. ya never know but it never seemed to me he’d be covering pixies songs or contributing to a tribute.
