Happy Happy Birthday

I remember that album, life and perspective…, my one friend bought it, I remember the various parts of the title track, there was like 4 or something, but the only track I really remember us diging and using on tapes was "through the gates of the big fruit". The lryics were too much, but I haven’t heard that album in ages. UDS, I’ll probably have to dig out Mental Floss soon.
Oh, who is Funi?
Straight no Chaser is one of Monk’s best. At the very least Straight no Filter is a cool title even if not in reference to Thelonious.
Ween – Pumpin’ 4 the man
I wrote a bit about this album somewhere else, but I’m jumping back in defense if it is even needed. Most seem to like Pig Lib. I dug it upon first listen, but it seems to take time to grow on many.
The part of the interview above that makes sense in reguard to the album itself is where Stephen talks about Led Zeplein, and how their songs only got really good after hte vocals were over. I’m by no means a Zeplin fan, heck I can’t even spell there freakin’ name, but Jimmy Paige could wale and Stephen Malkmus puts his chops on display more than ever on this album.
The idea of Prog rock might scare away a few die-hard pavement-pop fans. But the album has the Vanessa from Queens and Oyster maddness to fill that void. I just love the rich sound of the album. It is so thick, almost vinyl in my mind. Everytime I press play I feel like I’m dropping the needle and kicking back to here a truely fine album.
I’m sure there will be other great albums this year, but this is the first I found. I’m looking forward to the future of SM and the Jicks. Quality will always follow him around. A pavement reunion would be almost too much to handle. I hope to catch the Jicks if possible, now with two albums the shows should get interesting.

thankz for the information dB

I bought that Elvis collection just for that track without knowing the connection.
I can’t wait to find the original DSoS.
I’m just getting into the mix cd realm. I was an addict and still play around a bit in mix tape maddness. I like being able to put wierd sound clips and cut songs after lines and beats. I’m sure I’ll gain skills with cd burning but my computer cd creation knowledge is a bit behind cutting edge currently.
thanks again…

Urban Dance Squad?
I used to dig them. Mental Floss for the Globe was one of my favorite albums back in the day. Where’s Harvey Quinnt from? Are they still around?
Deeper shade of soul was one for the ages.
Why’s april so good for mixes?
sorry for all the questions…

Sarah McLachlan – Possession (Rabbit in the Moon remix)
I just saw Rules of Attraction and it was enjoyable. It wasn’t a classic or anything, but I’m a fan time juggling and reverse storytelling, etc. Lead a horse to water and then make him laugh when the water isn’t even water, usually blood when it’s a Bret Easton Ellis adaptation. I loved Less than Zero, but I thought American Psycho was a bit much to handle. It’s funny talking about a writer based on the movies torn form his work. A book is so much more, yet I never read his stuff.
My biggest gripe is more of a geeky tech problem with the soundtrack only being mixed in 2-channel surround sound. I’m a fan of the home theatre expirence and 5.1 makes me smile. Rules of Attraction is a new release and should be mixed accordingly.
My favorite part was a bit of conversation towards the beginning where the film major type is describing a movie that "people think is a Tarrentino film even though he just got the Exectuive Producer credit". I’m assuming it is in refrence to Killing Zoe, which was written/directed by Roger Avary, who screenplayed and directed ROA. I dig the jab at the Tarrentino worshiper crew that came to force when Pulp Fiction was the taste of the time. Heck I was and still am a Tarrentino fan, but Avary helped write Pulp Fiction, shared the Oscar and then gets swept under the rug then when he gets his own film, Zoe, and Quinten probablly helped pay for it, isn’t that what an exec. prod. does?, film buffs consider it a Tarrentino film. So I dug the jab. I like when jokes are so hidden they sometimes even miss themselves.
I miss college and theme parties for that matter, and this film is all about that maddness.

I always dream of meeting girls at the library, or a book store. Daydream that is, real dreams are too hard to meet people in. I’ve never met a girl in either place. I met a girl in a record store and it almost was cool. Bars are too confusing. First you don’t know wether or not to trust their words based on alcohol intake, then you end up questioning your own, if you are not already certian they are bullshitt.
So, I’d say the best place to meet someone is randomly.
That’s a place right?
Dave returns tonight.
Letterman, that is, not to be missed.
