Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks – 1% of One
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks – Pig Lib
As sad as the fact that Pavement is no more, the reality that SM is putting out albums is enough to replace milk and cookies on my best things going right now list.
I bought this today, rather yesterday for sticklers about that midnight day shift technocality. My ride home was much greater than the hour of so I drove to find a store cool enough. I love new albums, especially ones that make the world seem ok. The Jicks let loose on this one. Not to be missed.
That interview found near here is a great companion, as are the free five tracks on the bonus disc.
Almost bought Cat Power as well, but the stores were all closed when my 50 cent movie let out. Tuesday is half price day, I sort of scheduel my off day around it when possible and there is something worth seeing. I saw…well, there’s probably another thread for this…
bottom line is, Jicks are its, making hits, buy the disc, cat power is next, saw on letterman other night, first look for me, blew my top, much fun, late night thrilled, thoughts not always drilled, to bed is joy, new album is toy, sleep I need, back to the dish mine tomorrow.

Even though he is a major headcase, Kordell is a fine athlete and did have a stellar season two years ago. His problem is when the chips are down, and the moment is too much for him.
Two years isn’t that bad either, Plus you can bring in Chandler when the pressure gets to be too much. Save the old guy and use him as a fourth quarter closer and a play-off star, which is when Kordell will most likely be on the bench in tears wishing his oversized coat was even larger so as to hide him completely from the outside world bearing down on his failed opportunity after failed opportunity to win when in counts.
Sorry but I suffered for years watching him throw the ball to godknowswho one to many times…
All this football talk is making me smile

MC 900 ft Jesus – If I only had a Brain
Rosevelt Colvin signs with the Patriots???
a sad day for Bears fans

It will only get worse if they give any money whatsoever to Kordell.
I used to say that the Stillers wouldn’t be any good till he was off their roster, now I’m smiling and waiting to see what can be next in the stable as thin ice world of the NFL.
The Bears may be losing players, but with a revitalized Soilder Field the magic may return.
All eyes on september, or rather any warm weather month will do.

Ten years makes me feel old, but that album makes me happy; so all is well.
Top to bottom, classic.
Get Me got me.
Out there could be best opener, wait Freakscene, the Wagon?
Every Album is so darn good. I’m glad to sound off on this great body of work.
keep them coming J

I dug that list much. It reminded me of so many songs I used to blast. Power pop works as a genre becasue it is an aliteration, and all apparently approve of aliterations.
Power Pop.
There are so many ways to describe music to people.
I try to turn kids on to new bands I like but they get scared by the words indie rock or garage rock; and worst of all alternative country. I listen to everything under the sun, but labeling it for the masses will always boggle my mind.
rock and roll (different speeds, different moods)
jazz
hip-hopbasics, and not that basic.
My favorite Power Pop song, with gun to head, would have to be the next J song I listen to; past, present, and perfect
Charles Mingus – Better Git Hit in Your Soul
the Undertones- get over you
wicked pics, motion and whatnot. Dig the comic setlist. More sad now than ever that I missed recent tour. More shows please
