the worst lyrics i can possibly think of are, sadly, from a band that is usually very good…(Camp Kill Yourself). the lyrics, and song itself are just plain ridiculus and i was suprised…
"Attached at the hip"
failed attempts have turned us into one pathetic twisted wreck
all is eerie, you’re standing near me
I feel you breathing down my neckyou don’t need to be so shallow
turn your head prepare to followdeep incision operation
the tortured one becoming two
involuntary, solitary
it’s nice to have a point of view…..give me a break
it goes on from there… they should have REALLY left that one as the instrumental it origionally was… the music is pretty awsome, but the lyrics ruin the feeling. especially the "shallow……..follow" part… and that is their "hit"exactly
its sad how many people havnt been introduced to good music. i used to try to play bands for some of my friends, who are basically fad-listeners, but it really didnt get to them, of course. my sister(who listens to stuff like 50cent, Dixie Chicks, and…AVRIL
) likes Dinosaur Jr.’s guitar playing, but she says it simply as "he cant sing!!!". To me, J wasnt about singing good. he sounds like a human being sounds when he isnt trying to sound like anything he has heard before, and i think its the bored-sounding, sometimes sour singing that got me hooked on Dinosaur Jr. modest mouse is basically the same deal for most people i know, the voice. Most of the people i play them to find it amusing at the most… people should take advantage of the fact that there is variety in the world, and enjoy it while its still there… my list should be done soon….
the drummer left?? i hadnt heard that… that sucks… he was awsomeive seen dalek, they are awsome….
woah! a new album?! thats gonna be cool
and thanks for the dates, den buck! maybe i’ll be able to catch the one in norfolk.. thats the closest one to me..i hate too many bands to name, but i have one response to when robert said "cobain must be ricocheting in his coffin"……. uh, i know this may be useless trivia, but cobain was cremated and had his ashes dropped in a stream, if i remember correctly…. as for radio stations, i actually have a decent one near me that plays local/unknown artists from the north carolina/virginia area.. there is actually a pretty large music scene in my good ol town of danville, virginia, but most of the bands suck.. and the most popular "rock" band that actually is getting a record deal is a rap/metal band that SUCKS. cuss them out at their message board at http://www.timidband.com . anyeay, i’ve heard a couple bands on the local station that brush shoulders with the skill of Mr. Mascis or even the pixies
if only the stupid DJ would announce their names….
i’ve heard talk of a frank black tribute album…….

smells like teen spirit is definatly not the best….. if it had to be nirvana, it could have at least been "somthing in the way"…. but anyway, i’m all for making our own list….. if we’re gonna do it, my 2 songs are "Never-ending math equation" by modest mouse and "all about the pentiums" by wierd al yankovic(or however you spell it, that song is pure genius-"you’re about as useful as JPEGS to Helen Keller"
thanks for those links, the tab section on frankblack.net is really good!!
i hope i can get to see him live…… that would be another idol off of my list… i’ve checked off J mascis, CKY, and the melvins, but i still need to see frank black, modest mouse, lou barlow(folk implosion), and afi….. and everyone else who is good and stuff"the lung" may as well be considered an instrumental since there are only 6 words
thanks for the link, that answered alot of questions.. the setlist sounded very promissing
especially the holiday song… that seemed like it was rare enough as a pixies song…modest mouse- lonesome crowded west
pixies- death to the pixies(both disks)
melvins- houdini
dinosaur-dinosaur
third eye blind- third eye blind
afi- the art of drowning
nirvana- bleach or the unplugged albumoh, allright!
ill get the program some time. its nice to have a fellow melvins/patton fan here.

melvins are better than fantomas
i saw them open for tomahawk this past tuesday
oh yeah, i tried to open the tab file, but it wouldnt work
i downloaded it, but it said something about "windows does not recognize this file..yadayadayada.." oh well. maybe someone knows how to open it?
again, thanks everybody for the advice.
i started adding to my savings earlier today, i put my whole "allowance" in, so now the amount in my savings is a …grand total of.. *gasp* one hundred and seven dollars!! its a start i guess… i blow too much money on cd’s. but when i get enough for a guitar, ill keep all this advice with me, and i most definatly wont buy a squire, mattman.
i’m probbly just going to start with a standard strat,or whatever.. i tried my one of my friend’s
strat and i really liked it, but then again i dont know too much about guitars.. im willing to invest alot in them though, because i know how to play them well, and all that stuff… i’m not like some kid wiht no brain who has no sense of rythm and is just trying guitar to be "Punk" or "cooool". im a serious, dedicated musician.. and i know how to play, and im not gonna go hog-wild wtih effect pedals, and im not gonna buy a squire, and im not gonna get a black big muff, and i might not get a big-muff for my first fuzz pedal, and im not gonna try to copy dinosaur jr.’s or J mascis’s sound, and i dont want a jaguar or jazzmaster just cuz J plays one, like all my friends get them for, and im not gonna be bored enough to post somthing this boring and pointless again. thanks for the advice, and i’ll tell yall when i finally get my gear straight, then i’ll improve my skills then start getting more tips on pedals, and all that stuff… whew….
