I think the whole argument of "well, a shit job is certainly better than no job" is lousy. When the company in question is raking in millions/billions, and what enables them to make so much money is moving jobs out of places like the US — which has labor standards to enforce a worker’s right to make a decent living — and relocating them in places where the general population exists in abject poverty and often under repressive political conditions, all so that the company in question can pay the workers shit while jacking up the prices on its merchandise, it just seems immoral to me.
Using a company like Nike "to make a living for a poor musician" is pretty sad. And Dinos are not even making any money but Nike is. With the Dino reunion and the reissues and the upcoming album I think they are doing ok moneywise. Just a guess, I really don’t know. But I know that supporting Nike does suck. Not pointing fingers here or even the shoes and the whole case, it just seems weird to me, wanting to support a company that’s fundamentally so evil with music/band name that’s so sweet….
