I’ve been playing a Fender Ultimate Chorus and a Fender Stage 160… both ran roughly about $500 a piece (new) at my local music store… both are 2×12" and the UC is something like 2×65 watts, and has an effects loop. The Stage 160 is 160 watts (duh). I recommend getting the Ultimate Chorus more… Another smaller, less expensive Fender amp that is beautiful is the Princeton 65. I almost bought this amp as an add-on to my current rig. It runs somewhere between $275-320…
hope this helps….
Hmmmm… I don’t know about cover songs. "Start Choppin" is a really fun song to play. I occassionally do "Turnip Farm". I have that one completely down pat. I usually throw one Dino song and a Cure song into my sets. I tend to do Alone a lot, with that really long ass solo. That’s a lot of fun. Or, Freakscene is ALWAYS a favorite with the kids. But when all else fails I combined The Cure and Dino and do Just like Heaven (Dino Jr. version).
I’ve been playing with it a little today and it’s slowly sounding better. I just get a real fuzzy tone from the bass strings (low E and A) when I hit chords. I checked out a site that stated on strats fender reccomends that the bass pick ups be 5/64" away from the strings and the treble should be 4/64" away. I tried this measurement but I got a crap sound again.
Thanks for the help. I’ll be contacting you for that diagram soon.
J’s guitar rig is pretty cool, but does he really need 2 BIG MUFFS!?!
Which big muff is the one that comes in the metal casing and is black and red?
