I think they were placing these cows all over the states for a time, mostly in New York. Sometimes I go looking for "animal ornaments" in people’s yards and stuff, but it’s like they know I’m on the way and hide them. I like the way they just set art out on the street.

I agree with Kracked, I don’t like alone but the rest of Hand it over is really really cool, its my 2nd/3rd favorite because i can’t choose between that or where you been. I love lou’s distorted bass. But my god do i love Let It Ride. Most people love bug but i really only like a few choice songs from it. But Let It Ride is my favorite from the album. That bassline, the melody and everything i really love. That song is awsome beyond words.

Bug is always there for rediscovery. I forgot all about how this album sounds. When I think of it I just usually think of freak scene and they always come. These songs have just rested in my subconscious for so long. I love that guitar piece in the post, during the chorus part, but I have to say budge and Don’t are my least faves off Bug.

Let It Ride is awesome. I love those sustained vocals during the break, the female vocals that sound like they might be combined with a guitar. Sounds like they’re at a doctor’s checkpoint.

yep its his sig but thats how all the artist series are im pretty sure its a copy of js sig
but its placed in a strange spot and kinda large
most ive seen are in the front (or back) at the top of the of the neck
well most of the strat one anyways….

still its a killer looking guitar

No, not disappointing. I think it’s just cool for J’s to have another in the collection. The sig looks kinda like a lasso there. I was telling a friend about this guitar on ICQ earlier, and how it would be cool if it were silver or grey, and he mentioned that the only history lesson he took with him on his travels was the tall tale of Pecos Bill. He could never pay attention to the rest of history, because he was always studying the dinosaurs on the back of a classmate’s shirt.

I haven’t watched that show since the year 2000. I’ll be there to see the movie though.

I barely even hear the bass in the mixes on these cassettes/cds. It is way too low. I can hear the bass lines really well from a band like the cure, but I "HEAR" their music is way different.

Yeah, I’ve listened to that first song off Adam Franklin’s new cd about 8 times today.

I think Woody Johnson did have mousepads with this image on them, not unlike so many things freak sceney.

Without a Sound is wierd. I listened to it a couple of times a few weekends ago. :) It was mentioned all the songs were in the same key, but it didn’t seem that way to me. When I used to play them in my room I remember having to capo on 3 or 4 songs. It is very monotone, without expression, only deviating into melody in a number of areas on the cd. Rumoredly, it was a snow husking trip in a cold place that made J sick. I hope he didn’t get MPO. All the songs on without a sound are cool.

If you’re going on a quest for Dinosaur Jr., you had better get it Hand It Over. I’d like to hear the live version of Loaded. Alone is a great song to me, Kracked873, although in parts of the solo it makes me think republicans are taking over the country. Oh, I see, Bush.

What other bands used a distorted bass that was kind stand-out-ish like the one on Quest? All I can think of is the music to Black Sabbath’s Born Again…It was the only way I could play my bass, because the strings fretted better when sharp and distorted.

I don’t remember what pointless sounds like, and sadly remember what Outta Hand sounds like.

They’re good they just amount to less than the rest of the songs.

The bass line is awesome, and the lyrics are wonderous and disturbing, and the guitar is perfect on Quest.

I just compare WAS and Dinosaur because they are the ones least listened to, not because they share any traits. The production on WAS is way more poppy distorshy, but it is Sire/Warner record. The Dinosaur album sounds fine too as far as production goes. I just think some of the riffs and guitar lines are juvenile (not that I am a mature myself). For a debut, it sets foward the clock and matches and beats any other debut I’ve heard, so I’m surely NOT dissing Dinosaur’s self titled.

Quest and severed lips, man. Those are some real songs, but do they remind ya too much of the 80’s movie River’s Edge? No not me.
