I was watching "The Year Punk Broke" video and I saw them doing Freakscene and was amazed by the INSANE NOISE. I went to the library to try and find some of their cds and all they had was Hand It Over, first impressions were not good – it all sounded like a grey dirge but now it’s one of my favourite Dinosaur albums and I can appreciate it for the purple dirge that it really is!Nice one man, thanks for the info, v. useful to know!

But then I realised it was "I am…" (a song by Pavement, can’t remember the name havenae heard it in years)But as to the artistic merits of "Dinosaur" I love it!! Repulsion, Quest, Severed Lips, Forget the Swan are some of my favourite Dinosaur tracks, Lou’s Ricken-bashing is awesome (I am primarily a bass player, human being second)
But yeah, the sound quality leaves a little to be desired!Hand it Over is also a fave of mine, it was the first one I heard when it came out and I couldn’t get my head round it. It seemed like a big wall of sludge with a freak whining over the top. Of course it STILL IS a big wall of sludge with a freak whining over the top but I’ve grown to love the wall of sludge and the whining freak!
Probably the only two that don’t really do it for me are WYB and WAS…
(This is relative though, I still enjoy ’em)I used to be MASSIVELY into Sebadoh which is how I got into Dinosaur Jr. in the first place.
Bubble and Scrape was my favourite for the reasons put forward by kracked873, couldn’t have put it better meself! Harmacy was another winner despite the lack of "The Gaffer"
Have to say Lou TOTALLY carried that one (no disrespect to Mr. Loewenstein, I like his voice a lot but his songs weren’t great on that album)
Then I just sort of stopped listening to ’em so I sold ’em all!
