i think j stayed away from drinking etc for a long while (like in his teens when most other people are 1st getting into that sort of thing) and that’s why he identified with minor threat and the whole dc straight edge thing …
he said that was partly b/c he grew up in a hippy town where everyone smoked weed + stuff all the time … so i guess it was his way of being different ?? and also i remember him mentioning that drinking alcohol gave him migraines … but maybe that only affected him when he was younger b/c he definitely drinks alcohol now
i’m pretty sure he talked about some of this stuff in the bbc radio 6 interview from last year
… i also read an article once that said j was really into a certain type of whiskey (does anyone else remember that article ? … i think it was the same one that mentioned the world cup final in ’94)
… and somewhere in watt’s tour diaries he mentions j’s playing is much better now that he doesn’t drink before playing a show (or something to that effect anyhow)

and wow … what news !!! j and luisa are getting married (or maybe they’re already married ??) that’s just fantastic …
… i’m sending them all the happiest wishes and thoughts as poss across the atlantic (unless they’re in germany and then it would have to be the other way – the english channel and beyond) … and it would be pretty cool to see a wedding pic or 2, but i guess that’s kind of private – my guess is they would dress up bob in a funny outfit …i wonder if they’re planning on starting a family ? that would be cool to have a little mascis running around … or they could have a bunch of kids and give them all different instruments to play
hope they also get a chance to go on a nice, long honeymoon as well … with the year they’ve had it sounds like they deserve a break :aliensmile:

also … just heard this on bbc 6 music news : frank black says he was being sarcastic when he mentioned in a recent radio interview there was a possibility of a pixies reunion … and he had thought that brits being sarcastic would have spotted the sarcasm, but instead they reported it as a fact …

hey crazy … where have i been all this time
i’ve never even heard of that band "wank factor … etc" … does anyone know what instrument luisa played ?? is she in any other band(s) ??suicide

… that’s not good … i thought all his meditation would have made him a lot happier i’d like to see/read some of those german articles as well … but would it be too much trouble to translate ?
