I haven’t seen J and the Fog on the recent tour, because he’s not coming anywhere close to me, but I saw him 4 times when he was supporting More Light. And given J’s reputation for playing loud, I’d would expect him to be just as loud this tour. As far as earplugs go, I would say it all depends on where you expect to stand. If it is even remotely close to the stage, I would definetly recommend it. I’ve been up front for a couple shows, wore earplugs and my ears still range days. But if you want to stand back then you may not need to wear earplugs. I’ve done this too, stood back with no earplugs, and again my ears range for days. So basically it all comes down to where you expect to stand and how much you value your hearing.
There’s not much new information here but it does give the tracklisting for the 2 Deep Wound CD’S.

To my knowledge, the vinyl version was never released in the US. It was released over seas under the Blanco Y Negro record label. I accidentally posted that incorrectly a while back and never changed it. Sorry
Occassionally you can catch one on Ebay. If I remember correctly, they seem to end up selling for around $30 or a little more.
Have you tried looking at the GEMM web page for the vinyl version?
http://www.gemm.com”>http://www.gemm.comThis is a pathetic discography page I tried to start a while back just to learn Dreamweaver. It is so bad it needs instruction to navigate (which is the sign of a truly sorry web page) but here goes. Click on the type of release you want to view (Albums, singles, Compilations) Then click on the picture of the release you want to see information for. The red dot in the top frame on the right side takes you want to the initial bottom frame in which you can go back and select another type or release, or you can back click until you mouse falls apart. I’m sorry the page is so bad but I just started to learn dreamweaver and with school I don’t have any time to go back and learn the program well enough to improve the layout and I don’t have the time to update the information (I want to ad the Catalog No’s to all the releases, ad the tributes and compilation sections, and update some more informatoin I’ve come across).
I posted a discography that I made a while back. Follow this link and it will take you to the thread it was in. Scroll down a little bit and you should see it.

Hey Deco,
The cd and shipping cost me 4,515 Yen or $37.43. I figured if I waited a month or 2 and ordered the Japanese version as an import from a cd store here in the US, they would charge me $30.00 for the cd and then $4.00 or so for shipping. So I just decided to buy it now and pay a little more since I was going to get it eventually just for the 2 bonus tracks. It was definitely worth it since it is all I’ve been listening to since I got it.

Hey Deco, thanks for posting the link to the HMV webpage. I ordered the Japanese version of Free So Free Sunday night and I got it Thursday morning. That’s pretty quick it you ask me, especially for an international order. Thanks Again.
It looks like the 7" is going to be for "Everybody Lets Me Down" and it’s scheduled to come out on September 30.
Yea, I was running ME too and just got tired of all the problems that came along with it. Now I’m running Windows 2000 on 3 computers. Two of the computers have 128 meg of ram and there running fine. Not as fast as they would if I had more ram, a but 2000 works fine with 128. I don’t find it to be slow but I’m not running any huge programs on my computers either. I’m also running 2000 on my little sister computer and it only has 64 meg. It is really slow and I do not recommend this, obviously, but it is still better that running ME. I haven’t been on an XP system too much but I have been on a XP system with 128 ram and one running 256 and I think you at least need 256 to run XP. But that is just my personal opinion. Both OS’s are really stable. I’ve read XP is more stable but I haven’t been on it long enough to tell you from personal experience. The only problem I’ve had with 2000 is finding drivers for older hardware (older video card and ethernet card). I’m not sure if XP has the same problem.

I e-mailed Ultimatum Music about this a while back, when they were first offering the More Light cd,"limited edition vinyl" and live promotional disc (Guitar Center Promo) as a special package at the Ultimatum Web page. They told me that they called the vinyl versions of More Light limited because they did not press as many vinyls as they did cd’s but the vinyls were really not that limited. They did not mention any colored vinyl and I have not seen or heard of any so I would assume that they do not exist. I have not heard of any EP either. To my knowledge, all that J has released as J Mascis and the Fog are:
More Light (CD/Vinyl) (Ultimatum Music, US)
More Light (Japanese version (cd) features 3 bonus tracks: Can I Tell You Stories, Too Hard, & Jet Plane) (Pony Canyon, Japan)
More Light- (Dutch (Holland) version, CD, double disc with the bonus disc containing the tracks Lets Go 2 Church & Riptide Swim Sideways) (City Slang, Germany)
More Light – (CD/Vinyl) (City Slang, UK)
Where’d You Go (cd single with additional songs Can I Tell U Stories & Too Hard) (City Slang, UK)
Waistin’ (cd single with the additional songs Leaving on a Jet Plane & See It As Always (City Slang, UK)
Waistin’ (7" vinyl single with the B-Side Leaving on a Jet Plane) (City Slang, UK)
Leaving on a Jet Plane b/w Too Hard 7" (Sub Pop, US)
Guitar Center Promo (tracks: Where’d You Go (album version), Maggot Brain (live), Ammaring (live), & Repulsion (live)) This disc also has the Where’d You Go video on it in QuickTime format, I believe. (Ultimatum Music, US)
There’s also 2 promo’s:
Where’d You Go (one track) (Ultimatum Music, US)J Mascis was Here (4 tracks, Where’d You Go, Take a Run at the Sun, Flying Cloud, and Feel the Pain, i believe those are the tracks) (Ultimatum Music, US)

SONIC YOUTH SUMMER TOURING 2002
Hey All—we’re currently planning summer touring schedules to coincide with the release of the new album. Here’s what we know so far: From mid-June through mid-July SY will be in Europe, and for the month of August in North America. There may even be a Japanese date or two in there as well. More details here as they unfold…
If anyone gets a chance to see them they should definitely check them out. They are awesome live and I’m not really a huge Sonic Youth fan.
Jeremiah, thats for you help. I really appreciate it. The renaming the file extension works but when I looked to see if Realplayer wanted to handle mp3’s I noticed that that box was not check. So I assume that my Reaplayer does not handle mp3’s, right?
I have one other question. How do I get the mp3’s of your site without the extension changing to mpga. I tried right clicking and saving but I can’t download the file that way. It makes me save an html file instead. Any ideas? Thanks
The files play automatically with Winamp when they download. Unfortunately I’m running Windows ME. It was on the system when I got it.
GBV are awesome live. I’ve seen them 3 times and was impressed everytime. The first time I saw then I only knew a few of their songs but went because I heard that they were good and they blew me away. Check out GBV.com They have a section for their past setlists going back until 1994. I suggest looking at what they played in their last few shows and listen to those songs. I believe that they just got through recording a new cd, so I assume you’ll hear stuff from that. They play a bunch of songs. They play roughly 40 songs, no kinding just check out the setlists at their webpage. Their shows last at least 2 1/2 hours. I saw them once play for 3 1/2 hours with 2 encores. They play songs ranging from any GBV cd to any Robert Pollard side project. If you like what you hear check out the GBV cd’s Bee Thousand, Alien Lanes, Under the Bushes Under the Stars and Isolation Drills for starters. My signature Alone, Stinking, and Unafraid is a song from a Robert Pollard side project (Lexo and the Leapers) that GBV plays live. Have fun at the show. I wish they were coming around were I live.
