Haha — You’re right: he does look a little Italian. Picture him with a Russian Winter hat on, though . . . . it could work. Or maybe a Sherlock Holmes hat and little pipe?
This is a funny thread. I met J once, and it was strange. He just kinda stared at me, nodded, and walked away.
A good friend of mine worked at the Whole Foods in Amherst while she was in school, and J. and his wife used to come in all the time. She said he was always a nice dude, but kind of shy and socially awkward.
One of my other friends met J. once when J. got him into a show for free. My friend carried his amps in, and got to eat Indian food with him backstage. They talked a bit about the Smiths and some hardcore bands, and that was about it.
I like the fact that J seems like a total oddball. The greatest artists always are: Neil Young, Flannery O’Connor, Kurosawa, Clowes, etc.

I will not be downloading the album, because I’m a total dork and get a charge out of counting down the days until a release date. The f-possum preorder dealio is cool, but 4 bucks shipping and handling is kinda wack for a $13 disc. I’ll go to my local Newbury Comics and buy the album for like $11.88, which is their usual new release sale price.
My 2 cents: I don’t think less of those who download for free, but I’m just not into it. If I put a lot of work into something only to see it floating around the net, I’d be pretty pissed. Not even for the $$$$ factor, but because it just seems like a violation.
Final Note: Does anyone know if the new joint is coming out on wax??? I’d love to have a CD and an LP.
