Tool – Lateralus (very BIG album, a lot to take in, even after 10 listens)

Weezer – Green (easy going, happy, love it)

Squarepusher – Big Loada (crazy crazy music)

Thurston Moore – Psychic Hearts (good summery album)

Radiohead – Amnesiac (listened to it over mates house, sounds very good)

Without a Sound.
least listened to.
least favoured.
maybe i should give it more of a chance..
maybe its just cos his vocal range was not as good for this album..
maybe.

i was at the gig, and i do agree with you in some sense, but i dont think u should have a go at Watt. im sure J was quite happy playing stooges covers for half the show. the thing is, they played the astoria last december which was a whole set of dino/j songs, so it was good to have a change this time. i dont think u should insult Mike Watt, he has put in a lot of effort for J and he gives his all at every gig he plays. and as for Mr Gillespie, well he was just plain stupid. he brought aggression and anger to a happy gig. idiot.

hmm, blink 182. three annoying punk-pop twats. nice.

hmm, it seems ive not answered this question..maybe i did on the old one

1.YLAOM – it was love at first sight, everything about it is amazing, all the songs are so different. Lou’s songs are great as well, they add an extra diversity to the album. there’s even a peter frampton cover. how can it get any better?
2.More Light – the more i listen to it the more i fall in laugh with. each listen sheds ‘more light’ if u like…
3.Green Mind – yes, great, ‘Water’ is my fave dino song.
4.Hand it Over – holds some sentimentality as it was my first dino album (i know i know, im not an oldie fan, but i love ’em just the same )
5.Where you been – great range of songs, great range of vocals,
6.Bug/Dinosaur – well i reckon they’d be higher if i actually listened to them. dont worry, i will get round to buying them soon…
7.Without a sound – not into this album so much, maybe its the lack of diversity due to his vocal problems. still some good songs though..

i think when J is mentioned in the media they generally do hail him as an influential guitar player and certainly one of the best in recent years (maybe late-80s early 90s mostly).

but i think he would still be my favourite, and i dont think the media would be unjust in hailing him as one of the greatest, cos in my opinion he is.

well its all about opinion isnt it? i mean, thats what this part of the board is for.

J is certainly my favourite guitarist, he can communicate so much through his playing..

but i wouldn’t say he’s the greatest guitarist ever..just my favourite.

i think Kevin Shields probably had some influence on those two tracks as well. it sounded a bit like My Bloody Valentine stuff, u know…
