"Everything’s Fine" is my favorite "mellow, acoustic, folky" album. It’s brilliant. One of the most moving albums ever made.
"Crooked Rain Crooked Rain"- Pavement.
Very enjoyable listen. Not as brilliant as critics claim it is, but great record: melodic, raw, gritty, laid back. Great.Whatever
Somewhere (the song that pulled me in for good)
Everything Falls ApartI think those songs would let the guy know that the band had a command over what they wanted to express and how well they did it.
You guys should watch "Space Ghost Coast to Coast" on Cartoon Network; the banter is similar- but you’re not the best around! (I’m wondering how I wandered into this thread in the first place…it’s ont because of you, though!).

I have a few friends going up to see them who are also invited to the after-party. I don’t think it’s going to be dangerous; Harlem isn’t that bad.
By the way, I’ve got another "rock" artist who played at the Apollo: David ByrneMy favorite of the band is in azerrad’s "Our Band Could Be Your Life" where the band’s on-stage. The way they just sort of establish their presence, visually, is very cool.
Definitely, that outro to "Sludgefeast" is brutal on its own and is only intesified with that solo. Awesome, no doubt.
Oh yeah, both solos in "All the Girls" are great too.

I must say that "The Lung" has my favorite of J.’s solos. Good choice Salamiguy. Also, "The Wagon" and (of course) "Freak Scene" (although muddied, it’s great on the Sonic Youth video "1991: The Year Punk Broke"). "The Lung"’s just speaks, though, it’s a self-expression beyond words that J. manages to capture and harness. J.’s a great guitarist (imagine if he joined Nirvana on drums!).
I must be an amateur!: a measly 172!
Once I get to your guys’ ages (you’re all young, honest!) I’ll catch up, I promise.
quote:
Originally posted by Palace Brother:

Great read. I like the "sunlight brings the rage right in your eyes"- I never thought of it that way, but now I do, and it’s a great line. Well, just my interpretations here of a few things:
What is it? Who is it? Where is it?
Why does it hurt? x3A rabbit falls…

(I) grab, it falls….When J. goes into that part in "Muck" when he and the background vocals sing "Hold back"- that’s another chills up the spine moment.

I read that Atari Teenage Riot’s lead singer died but I never found out 1)if it’s true & 2)how did he die. Anyone know?
