Hi!

I think that organ is worth alot. Not sure, but here in Norway a real Hammond organ may cost you 2000$

are there any words on the organ?

I haven’t heard all of the guitarists on that list, but those I’ve heard really deserve a place on the list.

I’ve noticed J in two other top 100 guitarists, one of them in a guitar mag in 1993, I think it was Total Guitar. They wrote that he has influenbced a great deal of people incluidng those Pearl Jam people. They actually wrote that Pearl Jam hadn’t existed if it hadn’t been for J. Those are strong words, but it really points at a important point when it comes to these kind of top 100 lists. You can be as good technically as you want, but that’s not what’s important. As a guitarists you have to be innovative. I know J said he just played what other guitarists played. Maybe he did, but he managed to make it his own. He created a own sound.
He has influenced a great deal of people with his guitaraura.

Yeah, I don’t quite like this topic, cause I respect all the albums very much. There are moments on each record which appeals to me. And there are also some things that I don’t find that appealing…
All the albums appeal to different physotic layers in my mind. – but mostly this changes from day to day.

There are moments I want to listen to Where you been, and there are moments when I don’t want to hear that album.
But my view on songs may change from day to day, due to different emotions in my mind.

All and all, I would say when it comes to taste of music it’s obviously a subjective matter.

I live in Bergen the second largest city in Norway…- very famous for its’ rain. The city is surrounded by seven mountains, but fortunately I do not feel trapped.

Today it’s Sunday and I’ve listened to quite a few songs from different cds like:

Jethro Tull – Heavy Horses
Iron Maiden – Best of the Beast
The Strokes – is this is?

No Dinosaur Jr yet actually

J is might come to Europe, I cross my fingers that he will do that. How about coming to Hultsfred festival in Sweden 15-17 of June? That’d be so cool, or doing a show in Oslo, Copenhagen or Stockholm….

I have got three t-shirts.

one black dinosaur jr t-shirt with cowface. like the cow on whatever’s cool with me booklet and green mind on Ace Frehley’s head=)

The cow is black and white, but where it’s black and white on the original cow, it’s vice verca on my t-shirt. perhaps a fake shirt, the dinosaur jr
logo is not as on the green mind and the following albums.

Also have a purple j mascis and the fog shirt
and a white with the bat

It’s easy to get older dino shirts on ebay if you have money, which I don’t.

I’ll try to make it right this time: http://www.roskilde-festival.dk/bands/index.php?form_lang=uk

If this ain’t the right page than you can scroll down and click on the english flag and then get it all in english. Then click on bands 2002 and there you can wish bands.

yo.

Not to be negative, but I sometimes wish that J had a extra guitarist with him on stage while playing solos on most dino tunes. When listening to a live recording I sometimes think how better it would sound to most people playing a guitar solo with a rythm guitar/ in the background.
when I recorded my band playing BLOWING IT/I LIVE FOR THAT LOOK it sounded more complete and whole with that extra guitar playing under the solo. Don’t get me wrong I love J playing his songs as a trio, especially the rollingstone session version of blowing it/I live for that look
In my mind this killer recording has a better soundshape than the original on green mind. The drums are too central in the soundscape on the studioversion. too much drumsound and too little guitar sound. I also prefer a more tighter drumsound than the "reverb drums" on green mind.

Anyway, I hope J tours europe this summer. He’s welcome in norway
