Wow that would be very cool of you! I’m pretty sure that Majestic Detroit show is one of the ones I lost. Would be thrilled to hear tht again! I’d be into some old stuff too though I don’t wanna put you out too much – I’ll PM you in a bit after I catch a train home and look at the list.

Oh please, NOOOOOOOO
I’ve seen quite enough Evan on DKT-MC5 not to mention his solo tour (where I think I also saw J playing with CV, and J was better than Evan that night although Juliana was guesting great and pretty much saved that show). As for Mudhoney, if they play before Dino I will have NO hearing left by the time Dino comes on, and if I’m gonna go deaf I wanna go deaf on Dino!
I’m happy with Loewenstein, always wanted to see him because of that song "Jason Lowenstein’s a Wanker" but never got around to it
dad blast it, the 26th I will not be able to be by a computer at noon! it’s like the one and only day I have this big, major, family-invited, event going on…it’s not a wedding but it’s almost that major…there better be some tickets left by that afternoon or I will burst into tears!

Love those happy smiley players! They look like they’re having a good time!

thank you dime! thank you Dino!
J is an inspiration, as always…this is gonna be a good summer, knock on wood

it’s good to see that the Dinosaur Jr reunion brings some longtime posters back here. hope you’ll have the chance to catch as many shows as possible!hey flying cloud! thanks for the warm welcome! by the way, not to get too far off topic from the J, but I did get to see your fair city of Hamburg last year when Breaker (featuring Mark from CV as well as former CV members Derek and Don) played Hamburg. Very pleasant city (except for the traffic circles) Hope to get back sometime.

It’s like a little sticky note reminder!
April 17, 2005 at 8:57 am in reply to: DINO JR. EAST COAST & MIDWEST US TOUR DATES (FROM POLLST #108648Hello Fellow Freaks,
I used to post on the old board when I was going to a bunch of the J/ CV shows, took a little break but now I am back, I’m sure you all can guess what motivated me!!

wow, the board mechanism even remembered me from wayback! and it’s so cool that this thread had just the info I was looking for on when tickets are going onsale! I am definitely in for the 9:30 show and possibly others, although I will not patronize the Cleveland HOB for ideological reasons and given that I can see the mighty DINO elsewhere…
A presale for freakscene people would be groovy!
I’ll be hanging around and catching up a bit…good to see a lot of familiar handles again…
yeah I’d like to see those German interviews too. Kim and J go on at some length in the Raygun article about how blunt/rude the German interviewers come off. Don’t mean to slight any German fans that might be reading but I have to say, I was in an MBA program with people from like 120 countries and the German and Russian folks were always the most forward. so when J says they say stuff like, "I don’t understand this record at all!" it just sounds typical.
It sounds like J and Kim Deal were pretty buddy-buddy in this interview – she talks about introducing him to her parents, him knowing Kelley and so on. does anyone know if J and Kim are still friendly? i’m just curious.
p.s. forgot to add, Pelt how is that Giant Sand? one of my friends has gotten really into Howe Gelb and I’ve yet to hear any…as for what problems J has, I dunno…gall bladders…house fires…usual annoyances of our lives I guess

Belated Hi to Anthony!
Danny and I saw you in the downstairs bar before the show and I was about to say hi when John Petkovic from CV came down and made a beeline for us – looked for you after we finished conversing with John but didn’t see ya, then didn’t run into ya again for the rest of the night.I had some guy push right in front of me during CV as well, he seemed kinda drunk. I just shoved him aside
Good thing Evan didn’t get in front of me or I woulda done the same to him, probably not recognizing him with the facial hair. Nothing comes between me and my CV
Lessee, what more can I say about the show…Flying Cloud already crossposted the link to my post-show review in the CV forum so I’ll just add a few things. First of all J’s solos rocked. I’m glad he doesn’t try to note-for-note the album solos, I like to hear something a little different at the shows. And, I wouldn’t expect a master like him to do note-for-note anyway. Secondly the layout of the Black Cat stage pushed J more to the front than the last time I saw him. That was cool! Third, I was told that the kinda tinny-sounding flowered guitar is actually J’s own – I wasn’t sure about this on an earlier thread. It does sound a little cheesy, although J makes it sound pretty good. If someone not of J’s calibre was playing it, though, it would prolly sound awful. Finally, I don’t think I saw J and Mark switch off on drums this gig – at the Cleveland Grog Shop show a couple months ago, J played drums on one or two songs while Mark played guitar, but this time J just played guitar all the way through.
Regarding Dando, like I already said somewhere else I enjoyed hearing Juliana Hatfield + George Berz more than I liked hearing Evan – I guess Evan and Juliana together are cool but he seemed a little lightweight compared to everyone else. George once again impressed the hell outta me with his drumming. He is just superb. I wished him and J would do a little jam but unfortunately, no.
All in all a great night, hope the rest of the shows are going as well as this one seemed to for J and the CV boys

Hi there Flying Cloud,
No problem reposting links, and they should all work – that’s why I keep the archives on that list public, so people don’t have to join up to read. Sorry I’ve been remiss in visiting this board but I figured you and anthony and others would be holding down the fort – I went to three shows in the past week (Woulda been four but Pernice Bros was sold out
) and sprained my leg so I’m kinda on half cylinders.cheers,
