from all the setup pix of J’s rigs i’ve seen over the years he seems to send the same exact signal to all inputs of his however many amps he’s usin…
he’s a pedal pusher for all manipulation of tone(distortion, flangin, wahwah, etc.).that to me is THE classic way for great guitar tone, find a guitar and amp combination that you love and then find boxes that enhance that guitar/amp configuration.

(i’m happy to say that i stole J’s ideal setup thang along time ago:
FenderJazzmaster-ElectroHarmonix BigMuff-100W Marshall Amplifier(s).)
it helped me see the light(more light)i done sent you a pm…

over dubbing? on a punk record?
the mind boggles…never heard of such a revolting idea…

no wonder J & Lou had probs…no guitar player wants anybody messin w/ their tracks-‘specially post-hardcore punkers.
so, i’ve never heard any DeepWound…is their alotta guitar overdubs?
where are they, verses, choruses, solos, intros, outros…?
please do tell.not saying this is what J did but,
if you fill a 4X12 stereo cab w/ Celestion 75Watters-
thats 150W per side-more than enuff wattage for two 100W Ampheads…
i kinda do that but w/ a 2X12 stereo cab using 75W spkrs and two 100W heads.
i just make sure i dont turn things up too far

Agree, one disc with old and new stuff and another disc with an entire show from the current tour would be excellent.i wanna see a three disc release…
1. the 80s
2. the 90s
3. the BigAss tour
thanks fer doin that Dinosaur people

man i had questions like this for years…
1st-where did you see/hear they were 50W heads?
i always assumed they were 100Watters.
and why he did that-for ease of loadin/out of cabs and amps and stuff…i’m guessin.
plus in most pix there are cabs all around the place-so, cant be sure those two heads went into ‘one’ cab.
any info would be greatlee appreciated

plus playin thru two amps instead of one always sounds better, to me and alot of other folks.[quote quote="stanner"
the story is the tape ran out when they first recorded it and they liked how it sounded so they left it that way.

…bob dylanJuly 17, 2005 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Why Moshers/ Crowd Surfers Are Annoying Assholes, pt 1 #111105here is my old stylee perspective-i was around for the early punk bands of the 70s and 80s and since most stories about early DINOSAUR speak of the ‘hardcore and post-hardcore world’…that world of BlackFlag-MinorThreat-Avengers-Crime-the Minutemen and even bands like X-all these bands shows had mercenary type slammin and moshing.
it was really physically dangerous to be at these shows…
it had that testosterone-hormonee-excess energy that the music was only a part of…
i havent been to the new tour yet-so i dont know if these moshers are for real or they’ve seen video and are just emulating something they saw…
i dont care what people do at shows-its all part of the deal…’ya pays yer money-ya takes yer chances’
i dont think people are leaving w/ broken bones and blood everywhere like the old days. i’ve seen it all and i know the band members of DINOSAUR have too…
my take only…
staninsanfran
sure, as long as those 1st 1000 copies were offered to <b> folk first…
i’d hate to miss out on that because i was slow on the draw or not logged on the day they go on sale.

david letterman to ernie isley after hearing him play on his show.jeez thats cool info!
i caint wait to hear ‘Just Like Heaven’ w/ my own bare eardrumms
and sanfrancisco being the jam capital of the rock world-it started here in the 60s…here’s hopin they do a 2 hour set.
even tho’ Lou says he ‘likes short songs’.
i remember J sayin he liked playin w/ Dave Schools cause they can just look at each other and go off…
s
speaking of earplugs(that work!!) does anyone know which ones J Mascis uses?
i read somewhere that he used some military/industrial type…
anybody know anything ’bout that?

danke schoen
that iz such great news…
no kidding i had a heart attack last month and am now recuperating comfortablee here in san francisco-just got my Fillmore tkts for next month and now i gotta stay alive for the release of that special DVD
something to focus on for the future!
s
every version i have ever had (about 5) the tune is 2:52…
the story is the tape ran out when they first recorded it and they liked how it sounded so they left it that way. thankfully they dont try to pull off that abrupt ending when they play it live- that would be a good trick
