here is my dumass take:
been listening since forever and i feel the Fog stuff is more a J thang-since he writes and arranges everything you hear…
DINOSAUR JR is more than the sum of its parts…
there is a sound they create that no other trio can duplicate, and probably why it is so volatile-you cant be doing that stuff and have a semblance of normality that we all crave…
and man, to me to be the most powerful sound i have heard!
and believe me i have heard a lot!

that guitargeek site is so out o’ date(10 yrs old!) it would be good to see a more up to date thangg. i know some of that stuff is not what J uses now.

i thought they all brought their own solid performancce peculiarities to the stage and it was all very entertaining
but maybe you know something i dont.

it was so cool to see those three together on one stage…
and i didnt mind the vocals or the guitar…
i’m thinkin: they are in a clean, crisp television studio and everything is fine tuned to the Nth degree and, well its just NOT a HardRock venue, if ya know what i’m sayin…
and as i said before its hard to get it up in someones ‘den’ w/ all them lites…but watch out for the niteclubs and the big stages-it will KILL

also i think i saw a grin(maybe it was a grimace) on each of their faces
damn i hope they dont make SoCal their only west coast appearances!
we need to have a FREAK SCENE up SF/NorCal way

is J gonna be on stage right(all Dinosaur shows)
or stage left(all the later years w/ the Fog)
that is the main question

that dude is the uncoolest in late nite!
much has been criticized already on his mannerisms, lack of entertainment value, fumbling intros and jokes…and his plain lack of humor.
he has no sense of coolness either,imo-and if they have time to talk to j and band he is the type to make j just get turtle like…
my take anyway…

(they dont even have a stage area-like all the other shows…
justa little "den" area where it will be funnee to see all them Marshall stacks inthe band i used to roadie-The Mermen-had a show @ Spaceland a coupla years ago and the club is great-very roomee and musician friendly-crowded backstage area-which is really just a hall that runs the length of the stage right behind it-however they do video their shows-they have a pro setup for that and they have uploaded shows to internet-so here’s hopin they catch this one for later viewing.
