(guess y’all have to come over ta my crib here in ess eff cali
yep! i caught the very last segment w/ Dinosaur on there.
it was so incongrous-all these daytime tv weirdos in the audience mostlee lookin like they are seein/hearing something from another world.
it certainlee was twisted.
did anyone see the whole show-what was the theme-who else was on? i cant believe it was a complete show about J Mascis/Dinosaur Jr.
funny, never heard anyone talk about this before.

War JennyJonesAlong with The Wagon and Feel the Pain, which are up on FreeSoFree.net, they also performed Out There on Letterman too. I have an .mp3 of it with Letterman introducing the band.[/quote]
oh man that ‘out there’ on dave was outstanding!!
the 4 piece paulschaffer band plus dave sanborn and paul on hammer and chimes(!). J on Jazzmaster and mike johnson on the blue Tele-it was just a huge wall o’ sound production-there is one short shot of sid-guitarist in the house band just smilin and rippin and just seeming to be so happy to just be able to let ‘er rip and open up his amps!! murph was playin a snare and ride cymbal only-he broke his sticks at the end cause he was playin so hard.
i have a very shittee video of this-hope it comes out on dvd someday-cause that was a huge peak performance of the later version of DinosaurJr…
glad i witnessed it

cant help ye-but am waiting to hear a response!
i posted a question all over the place tryin to find out about J’s two ampheads and got very little amp info
i do know that i loved the sound of those Marshalls-J’s Jazzmaster and Lou’s Rickenbacker-and i heard he also used Marshalls but not sure about them early days…
s
god i just saw the WOLF on the 14th here in sf-that is too sad-
one of the great "live" bands imho
s
here is a thought: since J and most working musicians are about the future and not the past(unless yer an oldies/cover band of some sort)
i hope they work up a jam that comes together during their week of practice-maybe J or Lou have some lyrics lying around that they could work into a new tune. i for one would welcome something new from this grand old band
s
WOW when i click on that mattman link it loads right up-so…dont know why
U caint b gettin it 2
there iz somehing about that Rickenbacker bass hookin up w/ J’s Jazzmaster that just makes that sound of old just shimmer and shit
hope to be hearing that live soon

sure would like to have heard it tho’.
s
well i 4 1 dint know ’bout it

i do know J often talks about DeepPurple as being important to him(and me
so…prolly it was a tribute and also a subconcious tip o’ the hat…or…

DAMN i clicked on it and it no longer exists…
maybe someone knows how to post it.
it sounds great
just a note before the usa dates are announced

I am lovin the reissues!!

they have not left my player since they were released.
did i miss something or maybe i just didnt listen as intently when they were 1st released way back when…
anyway its almost like listening to a new important band that should be getting major airplay-fm and college-heavee touring and showing up on conan-jimmy-carsondaly, etc…
wishing all good things to this up and coming au curant rock&roll band:
DINOSAUR JR.
s
cool review-nice to see some freshness sprinkled on the reissues

hope there is a lot more media exposure before it all goes up in flames
