the tribute can be found on the last page of the mag …

they’ve used the same small pic in april’s mojo (the one where j’s wearing the deep wound sweater), but cropped out lou and murph, + enlarged j …

the tribute mentions the reissues, but is notably a tribute to j and not to dinosaur jr :D

it’s fairly lengthy blurb + rambles on about all the reasons why j’s so great 8) 8) … which i guess is why i didn’t buy it …

        1. i already know he’s great
        2. i have all my own reasons why
and 3. i already have a better version of the pic

so i went to borders in downtown sf. and they never heard of this magazine.
        which issue#/month is it?
maybe i can find it somewhere else.

that song is so cool-and the video seems to match it somehow…
love the scenes of them playin in that little room and that guy throwin that refrigerator down the hill(always wanted to do that
and that was my 1st hearing a guitarist putting the wah in back of the distorto.

I personally only want to see Dinosaur Jr reunite it all members are really into it.

                    ‘personally’…’really’, huh?
how in hell are you going to find that out?
so, if one of the 3 isnt ‘really into’ it and they are still touring the world-i guess you wont be there :?:
damn-you are going to miss the very best in live music :!:

After seeing how much J clearly enjoys playing with his new band, I for one am not really into the idea of a Dino Jr. reunion tour. Why force a revisitation of the past when both J and Lou appear to be so into where they’re at now as artists? A friend who saw the Pixies said they looked merely like they were going through the motions and didn’t seem into it much at all. Who’d want to see that?

                      why? who?
                      its called ‘commerce’.
dinosaur jr has a fan base going back almost 20yrs.
and w/ all due respect to J&FOG and SEBADOH etc. and MURPH’S bands those demographics can not be matched.
bring on the reunion tour sez me. :)

J is my favorite. Always is, always will be. He is so damn melodic.
I do think Hendrix is the best though. The stuff he was doing in the 60’s had to seem out of this world at the time. Machine Gun is such a wickedly cool guitar song.
An underrated guitar player that blows my mind is Jim Thomas of The Mermen. The surf genre has some great guitar plyers, but Jim Thomas is out of this world. He strings his guitar with bass strings and…I cant even adequetly describe how insanely good the guy is on guitar. He has to be heard.
                        Tom

WOW! never thought i would see <MERMEN> mentioned here
I roadied that band for 5 years-loaded in and loaded out setup and broke down more than a hundred shows or so…my back hurts w/ all them big ass cabinets…
anyway JimThomas is thee modern day electric/electronic guitarrorist…
i know his setup inside and out and its a nitemare of convoluted ins/outs and splitters…i love it all.
anyway nice to see JIMI, Jim and J all in the same sentence; its a real tossup for gorgeous over the top electric guitar playin…so glad to see <MERMEN> mentioned…

hey JIMI used the Dylan reference too when told he didnt have that great a voice.
however i think saying "worst singers" is not accurate.
                                maybe unconventional or something-cause J & Dylan & JIMI definitely could/can sing.
                                its only Rock&Roll :?
