I’m there!!! My girl has never seen J or Dinosaur before and is unaware of the sonic assault of the eardrums! Should be interesting. So glad they are at the Showbox. If you see me there say hi, i’m the balding, middle-aged rocker! HA!

Jeremiah – I can’t get enough of Modest Mouse lately. My g’friend’s mom calls ’em Mild Mouse! I think that’s funny. Hey, I’m kinda new here and not sure how to get to your ftp site. Apparently there’s some scenery I’m missin’!

Last time J was in Seattle I was one second away from grabbing the set list! Damn. BUT, I snagged one of those Bat picture promos off the wall of the Croc and had the band sign it. I felt stupid about that, but I wanted it for above my CD case, which is right where it hangs. I think i may have told this story before. I didn’t want to get autographs, it was more of a little buzzed-up dare from my girlfriend to see if I would approach J. He’s kind of intimidating, because he doesn’t day much, so it’s hard to tell what he’s thinking. Mike Watt was cool as shit – and sweaty!

Hickorywind – I’m down with the Slanted and Enchanted bit! Trigger Cut would be amazing by J. I think he and Stephen Malkmus’s voices are complimentary. How about G’nR’s "Paradise City." My Hair rock roots are nippin’ at my heels now, but imagine that solo!

Watt gets me shakin’ and jumpin’ and screamin’ and sweatin’ and, and, and… Good God man, look at the way he sweats! No one does it like Mr. Mike Watt. He seems like the coolest too with his manner. You know – WATT STYLE!!!

I agree with Malcolm on this one. Unless it’s really cheap and you’re going to use it as a "thrasher" I wouldn’t bother. I love the look of the Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Musicmaster etc., as I feel most people who are into J and Sonic Youth are the same way. BUT, their playability is shite until you really learn how to play thsoe guitars. I know Thurston mods all his bridges as soon as he finds ones he likes. Just my .02 worth. You’d probably be better off with a US Strat, especially sound wise.

Hi J, Mike & George. God, this is one of the worst things you can hear about when a band is touring. I’m glad no one is seriously injured, not that 2 broken vertebrae isn’t serious! I know you’ll pull through though. Best wishes to all. You guys are sounding as good as ever of late!!!

I like the guitar on Where’d you go – that little riff with the univibe (or something) in there gives it a good ring. Doesn’t he use those lyrics somewhere else, like on Where You Been. These ones: "I been wanderin’ in a daze, not bein’ phased i just give up now."
                          That sounds familiar to me.
I agree that the chorus is a little corny though. He might’ve made it up five minutes earlier!

Fuzz Probe, yeah I couldn’t resist after seeing J live here in Seattle. He played a mind-numbing set and I, like a dumbass, forgot my earplugs. Me and my girlfriend couldn’t hear ourselves scream – even after the songs! Watt was incredible and I think I may have freaked J out a bit by being so excited to talk to him after the show. Watt was affable as ever and George was just laughing at me in awe over J! Funny story. Anyway, I went looking for the Probe after seeing J’s, and found it at Emerald City. I was smilin’ big time when Jay at EC said, "I’ll give you the Sonic Youth price!" I love SY and it is cool to have the same piec of gear as these guitar giants. Apparently Thurston had bought 2 of them when he was in Seattle, along with a Les Paul (huh?) Anyway, as you can see, I love talkin’ gear!

Ooh, I can’t resist on this one! I have three main guitars I rotate: PRS McCarty, Lone Star Strat, and G&L ASAT Special. For amps, I am really into my Top Hat Club Royale – one hell of a tone monster. I also have a 50 watt JCM 900 (Marshall), and a Boogie Nomad 45 (loud and meaty). Anyway, my signal goes like this: Strat + Dunlop Crybaby + Fuzz Probe + Mellotron Univibe + RAT, then into my Top Hat. This is the ideal rig for me. I’ve worked long and hard to obtain this sound. I recommend Top Hat to anyone looking for an AC30 with some balls!

I’m glad to see there are a few other Pumpkin admirers here – Another misunderstood genius (Billy). I just wanted to throw in my $ .02 on one of my favorite topics. Here is my list.

                                J Mascis (of course, baby)
                                Billy Corgan (my hero)
                                Jimi (duh!)
Edward Van Halen (is he human?)
                                Kurt (feelings, da-da-da-daa, feelings)
                                Stephen Malkmus (underrated and rejuvenated)
There’s a lot more, thsoe are just my heavies.
P.S. Deepsludge – are you the same deepsludge from Plexi Palace?

Hi, I’m new here. YAY! I think it’s "By the time they come for me son, you’ll be gone for quite a while, come on now." Anyway, pretty close to the rest I suppose.
