Can’t We Move This rocks!!

That chart is phat! I thought the Sgt. Peppers era Beatles had more minor key. I can see how their earlier ("happier") stuff was more major key, though. Seems to make sense.
Where’d you get this?
"Matthoney" wrote:Personally, I don’t think J’s music theory really goes that deep. In his songwriting, especially the early stuff, it really seems like he’s just playing what sounds good rather than anything from a technical standpoint. He’s a very erratic player.I’m very similar (though obviously not as good), and despite playing for many years and having some degree of musical theory, I can’t really assess the key of songs or what have you. I don’t believe J does, either.
I think you’re right ultimately..a lot of rock artists probably just go with what sounds good, not necessarily going for a specific key, structure, etc. But I see a lot of reviews of their albums saying that a particular song is minor key, major key, etc., and makes me wonder a) how they know that, and b) if J knew that?
Interesting..
"Tony Raines" wrote:Yeah, Martin and me was an awesome release.Yeah, I love that album! Great stuff..it’s funny how J’s vocals work well in both loud/garage stuff AND in acoustic, soft stuff.
New album will rock..in an acoustic way. Going to be awesome!
No one knows??
I thought J sung in minor key a lot of the time? Maybe I’m just being too inquisitive.
"two reelers" wrote:"your weather" and "friends" sound rather fresh too.Your Weather is awesome. I love the bass in the intro, which pops up later in the song. Good lyrics too.
I’ve still gotta go with Mind Glow. Absolutely amazing song.
Also, Sure Not Over You is never talked about. Excellent guitar!
On first listen I liked I Don’t Wanna Go There the best. It was the catchiest!
Imagination Blind has become one of my favorites and has really grown on me. I just love how it starts with that throbbing bass and drum beat, but J’s ripping guitar in the chorus with that stomping drumming from Murph is friggin’ amazing. And I love the lyrics too.
I do like Plans as well and Oceans in the Way (they are about a tie for me). Pieces is also a great opening track as well.
Mind Glow is an absolutely beautiful song. I love the guitar in that. J’s vocals are like "glowing" in Mind Glow..it’s special.
And yeah, Over Your Shoulder is excellent.

That’s a great song..I also love Mind Glow off of Without a Sound..no one mentions that one either..it’s so relaxing, soothing…and sad!!

I still don’t know why the Phoenix album gets recognition. I just didn’t really like it as much as their 2006 album. The first two singles off the new one were not good.
