      Stomp,

Where you the guy in the far right corner/front row? If so, it was me to your left . Tall guy, white Dino shirt, right in front of Lou.

      Tubby,

I totally agree. Between the 2 nights they did a great job of playing different stuff. Too bad they didnt play Raisans though.

On a semi unrelated sidenote, thank God they threw that jack as* out last night. I’ve seen him at other Dino/Fog shows and can’t believe the venue security finally had enough of him. I felt really bad just kind of standing there as he and that girl basically continued to fight, but I didnt want to get kicked out. How sad is that. I basically sat there and watched a guy and girl fight because I didnt want to get kicked out of the show. If it was any other band though, I would’ve intervened.

The show sounded great. Maybe the best sounding Dino show I’ve ever been to, and I’ve seen them(J) live well over 30 times. Maybe it had to do a bit with the fact that I was back about 30 feet from teh stage instead of right no top of it.

One of my favorite J responses to someone shouting out requests was "I’ve got my own agenda". I think he said that at a solo show years ago. I dont know why, but I found that so damn funny.

Cograts Tonas! Not only will you graduate, but you’ll be done paying teh insane cost of tuition.

I went to Michigan State University. Transferred to Wayne State University where I got my Bachelors in Elementary Education. I then got my Masters at Saginaw Valley State.

Yeah, I couldn’t remember if Jimi was 27 or 28 when he died. That is weird that whole age 27 thing. Was Morrison 27 too?

Machine Gun is the most amazing guitar song I’ve ever heard.

I agree with SG completely. There are two types of people.

Justiin, Do you hate Asians because many of them are reserved? Should Columbus Day be pulled from the calender too? You yourself claim to be racist, but then your mad that blacks "think there better than all of us". Isn’t that a contradiction? The world is going downhill, better blame the blacks. Maybe Geoge Bush can fix all of the problems created by blacks .

                      Tonas,
Glad you and your son had a great time. The little guy even got his request. It’s so cool that you took him. He’ll remember that forever.

                      Take care,
                      Tom

Hendrix was also 28 when he died(I believe). He was getting better. His song Machine Gun with the Band of Gypsy’s changed the way many players looked at what a guitar could be as an instrument. I think Jimi’s approach to recording in teh studio pushed the envelope of music as well, just not the guitar.

After seeing Hendrix, Townsend and Clapton became friends. They were both so blown away that they had decided to go see a movie to talk about Jimi(according to a Pete interview I watched). I also remeber an interview were Ozzy said something to the effect that we think Hendrix is out of this world as a player now, imagine how it felt to see Jimi live in the 60’s. Ozzy said Jimi seemed like an alien.

Hendrix may not have been the most technical player, but as someone mentioned earlier, he could play so many different styles.

I do see some similarities in Jimi and J’s playing though. Some of the same equipment (amps and Roger Mayer efx). They are both feel players, that the technical freaks consider sloppy. My personal favorite thing I think they have in common is that hey both loved to play loud and solo forever.

Does California have to be in the title, or can the song be about Caliifornia? Love’s Maybe the People Would be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale is a great song about Hollywood/Cali.

Drawerings and So What Else is New are two of my all time Dino faves from the non Lou era. I’d love to hear/see those. Over Your Shoulder would be great. Cant We Move This is a favorite of mine from Hand It Over.

They do a great job with the first 3 albums, but I didnt hear Quest, Severed Lips, Tarpit, or Pond Song enough, or at all.

I like Sebadoh, mainly Lou’s stuff. Songs like Lose and Lightning Bulb are so great because it seems like J just lets loose(and they are great songs by Lou). I cant wait to hear Lightning Bulb live.
