I cant stand Creed, that singer was unbearable in an Eddie Vedder sort of way. I did think their guitar player was pretty solid though.
I just cant get into groups that strike poses or choreograph their actions on stage.
Kind of like sports I dont want to see some celebration that the guy has been planning all week, I want to see real emotion.

As far ass groups that I’d like to see break up(you guys have already made several great choices), I cant stand the Barenaked Ladies. God they suck. Limp Bizkit can fall off the face of the Earth too. Acually, all the "Nu-Metal"bands can disappear. The world could also proobably do without KISS at this point.

        take care,
        Tom

Thanks everyone! The birth of my son was definately the greatest event of my life. I’ve cried when I’ve been dumped/dumped someone, or saw a sad movie, but never in my life had I been moved to tears by happiness, until the birth of my son. I’ve seen childbirths on tv, but there really is nothing like being there and going through the experience.

I thought it was funny when the doctors and nurses said "great job dad", at the hospital. I cracked up because I really didn’t do much, except try to comfort my wife.

Rest assured, "Little Man" has already been introduced to the music of J Mascis. Oddly enough, when we got in the car to go home from the hospital, "I Feel Like Going Home" was playing in the cd player.

          Thanks again,
          Tom

            SG,

GBV would do a great Singing Cowboy.

A funny little story to go with the tune Robert Montgomery. I teach 4th grade, and a boy in my class is named Robert Montgomery. Everytime the boy talks to me, the song goes through my head.

Youre definately right about the critics. I just think the drums and guitar on Four Sail are so much better then they were on the previous albums. August is another great track off that album.

            Take care,

            Tom

I just watched If I Should Fall From Grace With God / The Shane MacGowan Story. It is quite possibly the best documentary I’ve ever seen.
Its an enertaining movie even if the viewer isnt a fan of the Pogues music.

Great mix SG. Neko Case is incredible live. I think Four Sail by Love is an extremely underrated album.

                    SG, Coma Girl, Flying Could,

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I haven’t been on the boards much at all lately, but I usually check them every other day or so.

I didn’t notice this post because my wife and I just had our first baby on April 29th. We got home from the hospital on May 1st, but the little guy has kept us quite busy.

                    Thanks again,

                    Tom

                              Valentine,
I’m sorry about your Bears. Kordell played OK. I felt bad for him. He was taking some big hits. I think the Bear offense will become better as Kordell continues to run the football more.
The Bear D misses the people that have left. The Bears should be able to beat the Lions!

The Bear team needs some playmakers on both sides of the ball.

The Cowboys are surprising me, but they have only beat 1 good team. Dallas has a solid defense, and Parcells has the offense playing solid. I thought they could be 9-7 at best, but more realistically, I expected about 7 wins.

Look at the bright side, the Bears will get a good draft pick!

                              Good luck!

                                Antichrist,
To say that American football is "4 Wussies", is a completely ignorant statement.
Rugby is violent, and its players are extremely tough, but American football players are in my opinion the greatest athletes in the world. No other athletes combine speed and size the way american football players do. What other sport combines players like Deoin Sanders or Michael Vick, that run 4.1 40 yard dashes. with players like Larry Allen that weigh 340 lbs and bench press over 720 lbs?

Joey Porter a Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker, played a game three weeks after being shot in the ass by a shotgun! He wanted to play two weeks after the shooting, but the coach wouldn’t let him play.
In the same week, Kelly Holcombe, the Cleveland QB, led his team to victory on a fractured leg and a sprained ankle.
Dauntae Culpper, the Minesota QB, broke three bones in his back, and still practiced all week.
Ronnie Lott and Bill Bates two NFL players from the 80’s both had parts of their fingers amputated so they could play in football games. They went with amputation so they wouldn’t have to have pins inserted, thus allowing them to play.
I could go on and on with many examples of the toughness, but I think I’ve already proved my point.
                                Tom

                                Robert,
American football players are incredible athletes.
I think one thing football fromother sports is all the strategy that is involved. No other sport I know of requires the same amount of mental preparation (I’ve played football, soccer, basketball, track, hockey, and baseball).
QB’s have 30 seconds to get their team into a huddle, get the play from the coach, relay the play to the team, line the team up properly, read the defense, make necessary adjustments(audibles), and get the snap off. They do this while crowds of anyhwere between 60.000- 120,000 fans are going crazy.
Some playbooks that these players have to memorize can be over 1,000 pages long!
