I’m 9-6 with the Giants tonight as well. As a Cowboy fan I’m just hoping they don’t get embarrassed on National tv. (Carl, I didn’t think anyone even bothered hating the cowboys anymore, with how bad they’ve been the last few years!)

Jamal Lewis went off. How they hell does a 235 lb RB outrun a Free Safety, or a couple of Corners?

That Cedric Wilson thing was crazy! Jimmy Johnson would’ve cut him after that.

The Panther D was impressive. They are my fantasy defense, and those blocked kicks kept points off the board.

How about the Eagles? I felt bad for Donavon. He’ wasn’t sharp, but he doesnt have anything to work with. The Eagles have no running game, or don’t try to establish one, and his WR’s get no seperation from the DB’s.

Kordell and the Bears didn’t look too bad. Maybe they can get things going in the next few weeks. The division can be had by anyone, except the Lions.

I’m really happy that Priest Holmes seems healthy again. When I saw him get hurt, it reminded me of the Bo Jackson injury. Its great to see him playing so well.
        Take care,
        Tom

P.s. Both of Jurevicious’s td catches in week 1 were amazing!

            Valetine,
I was sorry to hear about you Bears. The North is going to be easy to win this year, so it won’t take much to be competetive there. The Packers are on the way down, the Viking D is better, but still weak, and the Lions are the Lions!
I know it may sound like throwing in the towel early, but if this keep up, the Bears might want to play for a draft pick.
I know how you feel, being a Cowboy fan. I think the absolute best Dallas could do this year is 8-8. More then likely, they’ll be a 6-10 or 7-9 team. I’d rather have them go 4-12 and get an impact player in the draft.
Dallas completely outplayed the Vickless Falcons for the entire first half. Statistically Dallas had a better game, but they proved its going to be a long year in the second half.
Bets of luck with your Bears!

            Tom

            Wireland & Gods Sunshine,
The Steelers should be able to win their league this year, barring any major injuries. I didn’t get a chance to see the game, but they kicked the Ravens a–. I believe they have Cinnci and Cleveland in their league, which are both improving, but still no threat. The Steelers D needs to improve against the pass, and they’ll make some noise in the playoffs.
            Good luck with your Steelers,
            Tom

Thanks for the kind words. To be honest, I was a little scared to post a less then stellar review of Sonic Youth. I though I might offend some people.

The Stooges were impressive beyond words. I wouldn’t miss a future Stooges show in my area for anything in the world.

On a funny, unrelated side note, my mom told me that I pissed off my dad by going to the Stooges gig without him. He hasn’t spoke to me since the show!

              Take care,

I just got back from The Stooges show in Detroit (DTE) tonight. The Stooges rocked!

I missed The Von Bondies, which was no big loss to me. I’m not a big fan of them anyways.

I walked in just in time to catch Sonic Youth. I didn’t think they were as good as the last time I saw them about a year ago in Royal Oak. I tend to get bored when their noise tanjents go on for longer then 2 miutes. They went off on a tanjent after Teenage Riot, that must have been 15 minutes long. It got boring. Thurston was humping his guitar, then standing on it, and the other guitar players were having a sword fight with thier guitars. It just got old.
When I saw them last year, they seemed to have total control over what they where trying to accomplish as a band. Tonight, they seemed out of control. Some people may have liked it, but I didn’t. I’ve seen Sonic Youth several times, and I thought this was the worst I’d ever seen from them.

DTE holds a little over 15,000 people, and it was almost full. I was so glad Watt had a chance to play such an important gig. The crowd was really into the show, and you could tell teh band and the crowd were feeding off of each other.
The band rocked, and Iggy was Iggy. Ron’s guitar was great, and Watt was Watt. My words can’t do the show justice. One of the highlights was during Real Cool Time and No Fun, when Iggy encouraged the fans to join the band on stage. At least 60 fans went on stage, and jumped around with the band.
The Stooges were incredible. I strongly encourage anyone to catch them if they get a chance.

Los Straitjackest-The Magic Stick in Detroit
If you actually like insrumental music, go see the Straitjackets. All 4 guys in the band are monster musicians. The only other drummer I’ve ever seen that made that much of an impression on me was J himself. They were the best 4 piece band I think I’ve ever seen. Oddly enough, the crowd was the most enthusiastic crowd I’ve seen in Detroit in years. 5-10 years ago, it seemed like the crowd at every Detroit show rocked. Lately, the Detroit shows have featured a pretty quiet crowd.
The band played a great mix of new and old. They even threw in a few great covers: Celine Dions love theme from Titanic, Sleepwalking, and the themes from Batman and The Munsters.
LIke a lot of surf bands, the Straitjackets do have their "thing". They wear wrestling masks, and have go-go dancers on stage while they play. Some people like that sort of thing, I really don’t. That aside, the musicianship was phenomenal. A great show.

The Straitjackest just put out a Christmas cd a couple of weeks ago as well.

I’m going to the Cleveland show. I took the day off ork about three weeks ago. I’m going to hit the Detroit show Thursday, Cleveland on Friday, and maybe the Cinncinati show on Saturday.
I’ll be the tall guy in front of the stage that always gets hit with beer bottles by short people(No offense to anyone). They get pissed because they can’t see over me. I never understood why a 5 foot 7 person would stand directly behind someone whos 6 foot 4 anyways, then be stupid enough to complain or get violent about it.
I don’t drive for hours, then sit my butt on concrete for 3-4 sometimes even 5-6 hours to stand in the back row.
I’ll see you guys there. Sorry I got off topic. Maybe I should start a new thread titled Concert pet peeves.
