I always thought that Chris Cornell from Soundgarden could scream with the best of them.
Nick Cave could scream pretty good to, mainly when he was with the Birthday Party.
I don’t know his name, but the singer from At The Drive In screams pretty good too.
I agree with Kweezy, those 80’s heavy metal singers like Halford & Dickinson are in a class of their own.

Unskinny Bop, by Poison is probably bad enough to make the worst songs list.

I was thinking about the bad song topic again, and three songs came to mind.
              Ace of Base- The Sign
Gerardo(not sure of the proper spelling)-Rico Suave
              Warrant-Cherry Pie
They are all so bad, that I’m having trouble chosing the worst of the three.

I think I recall reading an article from a few years ago that said J drove a Ford Explorer.
There was also an article that came out between Without A Sound and Hand It Over, that had J interviewed while test driving a car. It might have been Magnet, but I’m not 100% sure. For some reason I think it was a Lincoln Town Car or Continental. From what I recall, it was a cool article, but I’m very biased. If anyone wants more info about that article, I’ll look through my J shrine, and try to dig it up.

I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t send a vote Mariah Careys way. It’s hard to choose just one song by her that I could nominate, so I’ll go with three. Fantasy, Sweetheart, and Heartbreaker work. As a disclaimer, I actually had to go to cdnow.com to find the names of these songs. I don’t want to be accused of bieng a little too familar with Mariahs catalog of work.
Maybe we should start a new post with the topic of worst movies. Although I didn’t see it, Glitter could be a strong contender.

Destiny’s child-Independant Women (I believe thats the correct title)
                  This song drives me crazy.
"The clothes I’m wearing, I bought it"
Not to be technical, but I think it should be, I bought them.

It was great to see J making the list. He plays in a genre of music that is often overlooked or underappreciated in guitar circles. It would’ve been nice to see Greg Sage on the list.
I thought Dick Dale got shafted coming in at #69. He is absolutely amazing, and extremely influential. Surf music got shafted, considering Dale was it’s only representative.

I’ve seen J using the z vex fuzz factory at the last two acoustic shows I’ve been to.

Mikes first disc is pretty good, I don”t listen to it that much anymore, but I would’nt ever sell it.
I think Year of Mondays has some great songs on it. It’s actually my favorite album of his. At a couple of the Hand it Over tour shows I saw, J took over on the drums, Mike played guitar and sang, and Mike’s ex-wife(Leslie Hardy I believe is her name, from the now defunct Juned) played a few of the songs from YOM. She was awesome on the bass, and J is the best damn drummer I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing, but J is actually a better drummer than he is a guitar player! He is so damn talented.
I liked I feel Alright, but to me it’s more of a disc I’d throw on when I wake up, or go to bed. Every songs about his wife cheating on/ betraying him. You feel sad for Mike after hearing that album.

The Ann Arbor show was incredible. The set list mentioned above is dead on, except J also played
On the Run, the old greg sage/wipers song. The solo for Ammaring was amazing, just like DMS mentioned ealier.
I’ve seen J live 14 times, and I’ve never heard him play a song longer than he played Alone. J and Ron jammed for about 20 minutes. I’m not exaggerating, they played Alone for about 20 minutes! If anyone taped the show, please make it available for all to hear. J was playing his Gibson, with a z vex Fuzz Factory and an old Ibanez delay. Ron was playing his strat with a vox wah and an ibanez distortion. It was unbeleivable. It seemed like niether one of them wanted to be the first to stop playing. I got some pictures, I’ll see if I can get them up, or to someone that can in the next week or so.

I bought it because I will buy anything that j plays on. I even bought the damn Tony Bennet unplugged becasue I heard J played on it. Turns out J’s concert with Tony didn’t make the cd, so that was a huge waste of money.
I was excited to read what was in the cd. Greatest hits cds usually have a decent write up about the band, and I really wanted to read what was in the cd.
I agree, Raisans should’ve been on the disc. That’s my favorite Dino tune. I also think What Else Is New should’ve made the disc.

Anyone that thinks Neil Young is a country artist has been living under a damn rock the last 30+ years. I’ve always liked the way he was willing to try new things and take risks, especially when he didn’t have to. He could easily do the ACDC thing, and play the same song over and over and over, but he constantly tries new things. I repsect someone that does what the hell they want to do (so I guess I’m a big hipocrite, because I’m sure ACDC is content playing the same song the last 25 years). I prefer the Crazy Horse stuff, but respect the fact that he is willing to try new things.

I always thought the solo to Raisans was incredible, especially live. I love it when J plays live solos, stretching songs to 10 minutes plus in length. What Else is New, Get Me, Drawerings, Alone, Ammaring, and Sameday sre some of my other personal favorites. I’ll never forget when I went to a concert in Columbus, Ohio, on the Hand It Over tour. J played Aone, and used the memory man and supertremelo (Im sure other pedals were involved as well), to make the solo bounce back and fourth between all of the different amps. It really sounded great with the tremelo. I’ve heard someone else refer to this as "playing ping pong" with the guitar. What ever the hell it was, it was amazing. –
