There’s a small bit about J, Dinosaur jr, and the guitar in this article.

Happy Birthday. Throw on those silver Nike’s , jam on that J Mascis Jazzmaster, and enjoy your day. Good luck with your Seahawks too.

            Take care,

Queens of the Stone Age @ The Fillmore on Detroit. Sometimes it’s good to go into something with low expectations. They sounded much better then I thought they would. They put on a very good show. Played a good mix of songs off of all their albums. I’d go see them again for sure next time they come back to the Metro-Detroit area.

I too think Built to Spill are awesome live. . They’ve always sounded great everytime I’ve seen them. Play songs from every album, and always seem to throw in a cool cover song.

I did just see the Smashing Pumpkins recently, and it was a total waste of time. They sounded incredible, but blinded me with their lame ass laser show. I’ve never wanted to leave a show so bad in my life.

                  8.Without A Sound

YLAOM is such an incredible album. The whole first half of the album is perfect. Drawerings and So What Else is New are two of my favorite Dino songs, so I’ll always rank WYB high. Plus, i like the fact it sounds so different then all teh other albums. Way more epic to me. . I’ve always thought Dinosaur was underrated. Forget the Swan, Quest, and Severed Lips are such cool songs. I was blown away by Beyond. It exceeded all expectations I had for a new album. It’s funny, I dont really play the Green Mind cd much, but every time they play the songs in concert I love them. Bug just feels kind of samey to me. Hand It Over is a very underated album. I really like the mellow songs on that album. Without a Sound has a some great songs like Over Your Shoulder, but seems to be a little samey to me too.

Smashing Pumpkins @ The Fox Theatre in Detroit. Worst show I’ve ever seen. The band sounded huge, but an unbearable laser show made it impossible to watch the show. I got the ticket for free, but still felt like it was a total waste of my time. Most of the songs they plyed were off the new album. The nest part of teh show was when Corgan came out and did a few acoustic songs by himself with the light show off. I could actually see teh stage. I’m surprsied nobody left the show after having a seizure.

This was the first concert I’ve ever been to were the band sounded great, but the concert just sucked. Maybe I was just foolish to expect them to play songs like Siva or I am One, when there’s a new album to push.

Yeah, Brady and Moss do look great right now. Hopefully all of our teams can stay healthy. There’s been tons of big injuries already.

I do think the AFC is better, but the gap is closing. To be honest, I think 6 of the worst 8-9 teams come from the AFC (Bills, Dolphins, Chiefs, Browns, jets, and Raiders). If last years Dallas team could beat the 9-0 Colts, this years Dallas team could beat any AFC team.

I’d say the Colts, Pats, Steelers, and Cowboys are the 4 best teams. The next best team in the AFC should be the Chargers, but they have looked bad. I do think they’ll get it turned around when they start to play some of those weak AFC west teams(Raiders twice, Chiefs twice, and at worst the spilt with the Broncos). I almost think the Titans are the 4th best team in teh AFC right now. I dont think any other AFC team is any good. Sure the Bengals can score, but their D blows. Yeah, the Ravens have a great D, but their offense blows. The Broncos even suck this year.

The NFC is clearly Dallas. at the top. After that, the Seahwaks are probably #2. The Packers aren’t great, but that defense is pretty good. I’d also say the Panthers are a top 10 team. The Bears will probaly have a rough couple weeks with all the defensive injuries, but should be better with Griese.

I guess I’m jsut rambling. The AFC has 3 of the top 4 teams, but after that, it’s pretty wide open.

You guys already named a bunch of my underrated Dino faves. I’ll throw in Drawerings. It’s probably my 2nd favorite Dinosaur jr song ever. I always thought Turnip Farm was a great song too.

Are you expected to fully recover, or is it something that may be problems down the road?

                                Good luck,

The Seahwaks did look good. The 49ers and cardinals are both improving, but barring any major injuries, the West belongs to the Hawks.

I was impressed with the Cowboy offense Sunday night. The defense will be better once Newman comes back.

The amount of injuries was mind blowing. Man do I hope the health of the player from Buffalo improves.
