Really? There’s nothing that’s been negative over at Loobiecore? You might want to go read it:

wow .. out of context much ? The full sequence is:

      Quote:
he had that first record more or less wrapped up and ready for murph and i..it was incredible..
      Quote:
Lou, any chance you could post the lyrics to pointless sometime? I’m hard pressed to figure out anything beyond "I’m starving."
      Quote:
somehow spending a day transcribing j’s lyrics seems masochistic to me.. as if it wasn’t clear enough that dinosaur jr has obliterated my own work..hah!

ie, Lou was joking about how it would be masochistic to transcribe "Pointless" because it would remind him how much better (in Lou’s eyes) J’s lyrics were/are.

I mean, what is this ? Fox News ?

        >Besides wasn’t the 50% comment with regards to creative input? I’d say that’s pretty accurate.

you think J lets Lou & Murph have 50% creative input ? I think even from the beginning J has asserted waaaay more than that. Lou has *some* creative input outside of his tunes but Murph basically has zero.

Sorry that I came across so agressively, but it seemed like Chicago_Fog was implying that there’s a whole new "J vs. Lou" thing going on when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

That said, Murph has some major issues and hopefully a 90 program will help him improve. I’m sure it was very hard for them to do what they did and odds are that manager Brian S. was making all the arrangements behind the scenes so he most likely deserves a lot of credit as well. Dino is kind of a "family" now, really.

At least he didn’t end up on "Intervention" or "Dr. Drew".

I’ll send him a laptop if it meant he’d log in here once in awhile and interact with us. Lou is transcribing lyrics and breaking down financials of the band over there at Loobiecore. It’d be nice to get J’s side of things.

At this point, I’d settle for Kyle ("J’s chosen one on drums") or Noel in here giving us updates. Seems like Lou is the voice of the band facing the Internet Any man that made a song mocking ‘Thumb’ is a man that I’m looking at with a squinted eye. It’s rather well documented he hates J’s lyrics and is an "employee" of J’s. I just think a lot of us would really like to get the info directly from J. When Lou tells people J makes 50% and that he and Murph make 25% each I wonder what use that has to offer other than to stir up trouble….

I mean in a way it’s ultra awesome that Lou is interacting with his side of the fence but I take it all with a grain of salt. It really would be nice to hear thingsupdates from J directly. I’m a dreamer huh?

            Oh and get well Murph!

what, you think Lou is making shit up to "stir up trouble" ? Give me a fucking break. What other "side" is there ? Do you think Lou is lying when he says that J gets 50 % (I think it’s less now, BTW) ? He’s said from day one that he was grateful to be back a part of Dinosaur and the one he felt was getting screwed was Murph, not him. And I happen to agree with Lou about the lyrics on "Farm" — they are total and utter shite.

Frankly, I don’t think J gives a flying fuck about anyone on "his" forum or feels that he owes anything to anyone.

              Lou on Loobiecore:

              Quote:
he’s in a 3 month program in LA… i’ll visit him when i get back and see how he’s doing..
the rehab is to save the band, or his involvement in it.. not sure what j’s plan would be if murph bails altogether.. he showed up for this tour completely out of it and emaciated , we felt we had to act sooner than later ..

Kyle was basically ‘on call’ from day 1 of the tour so unfortunately it’s not that much of a surprise :(

No, the Fog is Kyle Spence on drums and Dave Schools on bass.

The Fog plays Dino but Dino does not play the Fog. In the last 5 years Dinosaur has played the Lung and Raisans many, many times. From 2005-2008 they played one or both of them virtually every show. Many of the 2009 shows have one of them at well.

Oh, and Murph has been totally hitting the bell of his cymbals on the last couple tours. Personally, I’m not a fan.

Is that the guy who`s Trini Lopez`s nephew?Bedhead were a great band I agree

the drummer’s name was Trini Martinez … dunno of any relations. There were some weird names in that band … Bubba, Trini, Tench

I think they have played more shows since 2005 then they did when they were together originally.

by *far*. Unless the lists on Freesofree are incomplete, the original lineup only played 89 shows from 1985-1989. They are playing 113 Dinosaur shows *this year*.

                              2005 59 Dino/6 J

I’m sure Sebadoh had a ton of gigs from 1991-1999 but I’d bet this is the most either J or Lou have been on the road their entire careers. This is great for the bank account, obviously, but rather hard on their wives (well, on Lou’s wife at least — can’t imagine Luisa is any different) with 2 young children and another arriving within a month. Being a single mom and a single, very pregnant mom for months on end kinda sucks.

it’s gone and will never be recovered. Happened to Sonic Youth. Happened to Dinosaur. Happened to many other bands. None of it is ever found again.
