If I had to guess there was maybe only 100-150 people at the show. Lame.WOW (pun intended), that’s like empty. Must have felt like you were back in 1985 or something
"BetteDavisLies " wrote:The tour manager is a nice guy. I don’t know his name, but he seems to be super friendly. IMaybe Brian Schwartz (short-ish, long dark hair) ? Or Ajay ? (darker skin, accent – though I think he’s just doing sound this tour)
"deepsludge " wrote:You mean Dinosaur Jr. is not playing in Seattle? That is stranger than them never going to Canada. This tour they seemed to hit a lot of places they hadn’t been to last summer, so no Chicago, NYC, Seattle, Minneapolis, Milwaukee etc.. There are some repeats, but it’s mostly new venues.
"duane " wrote:Seriously, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a band of any weight set up their own equipment (and later help Dinosaur). Weird….In clubs, I think it’s pretty common. I’ve seen Stereolab, Sonic Youth, the Shins, Tortoise and even geezers like Wire and the Fall (and all way ‘bigger’ than Priestess) set up their own gear. In fact, one of my most disgusted feelings at any show was watching like 3 roadies do everything for Interpol when they played the Empty Bottle in Chicago (like 200 people, tops) like 3 yrs ago. They brought them towels onstage, fetched them water bottles, gave backstage passes to the hot chicks
. It was all too Rockstar for me to handle
April 17, 2006 at 1:20 pm in reply to: (Poll) Blowing It / I Live for that Look Live at the Troubad #116390I don’t think they’ll play it but I can see how they’d be getting antsy w/ the limited setlists. Years ago when Lou was on 120 Minutes with Bob Mould he asked him something about touring w/ Dino and he said something like "yeah ….. same set every night …. <big>".
"Slope1988 " wrote:Is it the Kevin Sweeney in hayride? I went to school with him and lived in Athens, GA while he was out there. I occasionally would say hello to him at a hayride show. He’s a cool dude.I’m pretty sure he’s from or lives in Athens (iirc, his wife teaches there ?) so it’s probably the same guy. Kyle Spence also plays/played drums in The Fog.

Maybe he wanted to see if his tooth was chipped or something ? He sings very close to the mic so it’s entirely possible.sometimes if you go in with an adult they’ll let you in, like at an R-Rated movie. spring for a ticket for your dad, have him go in and then he can just leave. don’t sweat looking uncool.
March 31, 2006 at 1:24 pm in reply to: Dallas Review, looks like a little tension at the end. #115692they played Cats in a Bowl ?

If true, that’s a first.
J is married to Louisa. No kids.
Not sure what else you’re looking for.
Forgot to ask … what does the "AX" mean in Japanese, if anything ? The reason I ask is that there was a very famous club in Chicago called Lounge Ax and I never knew why they named it that.
anyone ?

February 28, 2006 at 9:53 am in reply to: did Lou write any of the songs on the debut album? #114993I believe J wrote all the songs the debut. He had Lou sing them because he didn’t like his own voice. Not really sure about Lose, either.
