Also, I was in LA last week and saw a prerelease tracklist of the Freed Man resissue. Something like 50+ tracks

The Abbey Pub is pretty small. Maybe a few hundred, tops. The sound is good as well. Lou has played there a couple times w/ the Folk Implosion and w/ Jason back in 2004 and likes it a lot. Nice people. Some of the same crew as the old Lounge Ax (Julia Adams, Dan the Doorman).
5/31/2007 Chicago, IL @ The Abbey
6/01/2007 Chicago, IL @ The Abbey
6/02/2007 Chicago, IL @ The AbbeyHOLY CRAP. They are gonna blow the roof of that place.
I loved how they had different guys dubbed for each person. Lou’s guy has such a nasal-y whiny voice. I think that’s the most animated I’ve ever seen J.
nice to hear that you liked it. Lou was deathly ill.
I’ve had the video on in the background and timed it as follows. It started at about 11:30 CST.
11:30 – 11:43 Rachel Fuller
11:43 – 11:51 Jimmy Fallon (?)
11:51 – 12:07 Amos Lee
12:08 – 12:27 Rachel Yamagata
12:27 – 12:35 J
12:35 – Pete Townshend / Lou ReedSo, it looks like J comes on about 57 minutes into the loop. Definitely the high point as all the previous were snoozefests. Townshend was definitely the most into playing w/ J.
it’s the "TowserTV" link at the top of the page, not the "In the Attic" stuff.
it may or may not still be there. J comes on 3rd after Rachel Yamagata. They of course show the others playing like 2 or 3 songs each while only showing J do "Get Me" with the camera zoomed in on his face so you can’t see him play
Townsend comes out to play "See Me, Feel Me" and J totally tears up the solo. Townsend says "More ! More !" a couple times into the mic.kinda like living on
[move]crackers and coffee[/move]yup. I-talian.
And it fits. J is certainly a Maestro.

WTF?oh yeah … I hadn’t thought of that. perhaps there were some rotating lights. Now maybe Mei Mei can tell us without revealing all his trade secrets
it does look like something that could be done w/ the "Liquify" filter in PS.And yes, Annastefka … I do have some photo background, not professionally but more in the avid-amateur-who-spends-way-too-much-$$-on-photo-equipment sense
I also help teach beginning photo classes at a nonprofit arts center in Chicago. The Answer: She used to be married to Matt Sweeney, who did make the "Superwolf" record w/ Will Oldham. That’s probably where the confusion came from.

the shots are great…but photoshop?………now I see the light.well yeah … Effects similar this can be done w/ rear-curtain sync flash but in this case, having parts of the photo be in focus while the like swirls around it would seem to be pretty much impossible unless there is some type of camera lens of which I’m unaware that lets you "rotate" the outer edge of the photo while keeping the inside still. The light effects also be due to camera shake or long exposures but then you get something like this

where there are some cool streaks but they whole photo is out of focus as well (this was unintentional on my part).
There are probably Photoshop plugins that let you do that kind of "vortex" effect. Still pretty cool, though.
I don’t think that’s true, either. I will have to confirm.

that’s some nice photoshopping.
