There’s a story that J was arrested by east German Police (aka GDR, the German Democratic Republic – the ex-communist part of Germany, that thankfully fell apart in 1989…) when travelling to West Berlin in 1988 (back then you had to travel through East Berlin to come to the West part of the city – Berlin was split into 2 parts, East (communist) and West (democratic)…). Aparantly J had some weird colored looking pills to help him with his migrane, and the story goes the officers thought these where drugs… this has been posted in various Music magazines over the years, mainly the German music press of 1988, when J was doing a promo tour for "Bug"…

No worries, it’s just the cabs… he’s still got the amp

It’s a common act, get speakers > play tour > sell gear…
And I remember his cabs where quite new, too.September 15, 2005 at 10:42 am in reply to: Frequenze Disturbate Festival Urbino Italy mp3’s??? #112593"anthony " wrote:can probably do a flac or shn without quality loss.Right on, go for it !

Lou can’t stand that song. It’s true. He told me during an interview. What a shame. I, too, think it’s one of their best numbers… oh well. I’m sure they’ll do it at the Koko show. Lou has played Poledo before, solo & with Sebadoh…

[EDIT]
Just a mush of sound, J’s voice was almost completely drowned out, on some songs couldn’t even tell what it was until maybe a good 10 seconds into it – and every single song played I’ve heard at least 100 times so it should be _that_ hard. And my ears are ringing pretty darn well. FWIW, I think the venue is largely at fault, it is _not_ known for having good sound, and I wonder if the band might have had trouble hearing each other and just decided to go for broke…
I don’t mean to whine, but I was really looking forward to show with original lineup, I’m a big fan of the first three albums. Just couldn’t have a good time. It’s such a stark contrast from what I saw last year.
Bummer to hear that you didn’t get to enjoy it ! Â

What happened, did the band go on full shred-mode and decide to destroy the set by doing feedback and stuff ? Or did they just stick to the bad sound and went with it, but played bad
I’m just curious to know what you mean with "the band … decided to go for broke…" ?! Â
Concerning J’s voice – from hearing the Las Vegas recording from 3 days back I know J’s struggeling with a cold and his voice is kinda shocked, temporarily losing it at times…"lethrneck4 " wrote:does lou play sebadoh songs at his acoustic shows?LOADS ! His live sets beautifully mix Sebadoh songs, Folk Implosion songs and his solo stuff, all very well balnced… go see him if you can ! Recent shows I have seen on the "EMOH" tour have all been close to 2 hours long, and he tells LOADS of funny stories as well…
I Love Lou

thumb (cbgb) is on the keeblin site. I guess it was only releaed in australia.
I don’t know if anyone has it. No big deal, I’ve heard J do thumb hundreds of times.
I swear I used to have a BBC session of Just Like Heaven but maybe I’m mistaken
Was there any thing else released of the Mark Goodier sessions beside what is on Quest?
The so-called BBC version of Just Like Heaven was just an off-air recording from the radio of the official single-mix, nothing special, it just ended up on a cassette tape with the other 1989 BBC tracks…
That version of Quest is KILLER !!! No reason that they didn’t put that onto the BBC CD…"garrrr" wrote:only American show with "The Leper," it was played the first night in Europe, 06/06/05 in Groningen, Netherlands at the Vera.at least that’s what information i’ve received says

Lose was definitely NOT played at the London 6/9/05 show, that was Gargoyle…
(I was there…)Lou told me in an interview that he loves You’re Living All Over Me up to the point when Lose comes on the record, that’s when he went "arrgh" in the interview…
