i know lou plays a 6 stringed 12 string, with the two bass strings doubled (the e and a) so, it´s basically a 4 string. open a tuning (Ee,Aa, c#, e), try, it´s fun. with bass i don´t know, only that he had a rickebacker bass that he sold when he got kicked out of dinosaur. he plays jason´s bass during sebadoh shows (also a rickenbacker) but no owns a fender mustang bass. he plays with his fingers [img]images/smiles/converted/eek.gif[/img] and single notes. i LOVE his dino-strums. oh yeah, he plays gretsch guitars. anyway, who cares, i´m, just a hardcore-lou fan, so i had to say….. dino where a HUGE influence on….. me !
I still stick to lou when i have a go at the bass, i stick to murph when i play drums, except for j, i learned his songs on guitar and went on from there, but dino´s influence has been immense [img]images/smiles/converted/biggrin.gif[/img]the monkees REALLY got me into music…. i just recently went through my monkees collection (missing two lp´s) i bought them at tower records nyc in the mid 80´s when i got my monthly 10 $ (one album for 7$). still a great band….i mean kicking out their producer and then starting to do their own thing and that in the mid 60´s is pretty punk or not ?.
they played with hendrix in august 67 i think. the monkees were REALLY into hendrix, but most of them monkees-fans-parents thought he was way to rude and so he dropped out….but they partied together (dolenz and tork were friends with the experience).
headquarters and piesce, capricorn…. and those trio records are pretty damn good….i´m not too much of a davy jones fan (i loved him in my teens), but you and i is an amazing song with good lyrics, cool drums and great lead guitar. watt on bass is just fine

yeah, g.w. is not that much of a hero here in europe. it´s weird listening to someone talking about bombs and stuff AND not being interested our worlds ´health´ (these are the main reasons people don´t like him here, i figure. oh yeah, and it was a weird ´voting strategy´.)
