Dunno about Leeds, but I thought the Reading set was excellent. You’re never going to get the same atmosphere at a festival performance that you’d get at a dedicated gig, given that >50% of the crowd are probably just filling time until the next band they planned to see comes on. I’m just pleased they’re getting booked each year as it’s the only performance that stands any chance of appearing on UK broadcast TV.

He seems like an awfully unhappy, self-loathing individual.

I don’t feel bad about not going to Reading now. Dinosaur were the only thing I wanted to see and I hate the damned festival scene these days. (adopts old codgers voice) In my day Dinosaur played on the main stage over Nirvana and 16 yr old kids had to get in with an adult! There was no TV coverage and you were lucky if you weren’t by an empty cider bottle full of piss. In fact getting warm piss thrown at you in a plastic Blackthorn cider bottle was compulsory!!

I was at the Leeds Fest in ’00. Atmosphere of that show wasnt too bad, at the time (i thought). Would love to see this on freesofree.

DO remember that the portapotties were overflowing everywhere, gross.

Hm, id love to check out both the dino show in nyc and the conan show, as i will likley be in NYC around this time for a few days.

is there anyone who knows how i can guarentee me a ticket to conan? it used to be really easy to get in ( ive been 3 times) but the waiting list is really long.

Any tricks? Tips. etc. No need for me to record the show obviously cause its taped on tv and nyctaper will tape teh nyc show, i just want to be there.

Hmm. Maybe I should avoid the whole sounboard recording route and stick with ambient/audience recordings? I personally prefer hearing the crowd. Concert recordings (in my opinion) should recreate the concert experience.

Do people think my recordings are actually superior to sounboard recordings? Please let me know. All my recordings are audience recordings.

There is a contest on http://www.usatoday.com occuring between competing real Springfields throughout the USA for the World Premiere of the Simpsons Movie (The Simpsons take place in a fictional Springfield, though it has many similarities to our own).

The contest requires each Springfield to create a 3-5 minutee video submission, which has already been done. On a certain date in the very near future, usatoday.com will be posting these videos, for a vote. The video with the highest number of votes will have the world premiere of the Simpsons Movie.

I have created a few places for a grassroot effort to make this happen, by creating a buzz /awareness, thus getting the majority of votes.
