Dinosaur Jr just announced the “Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not” pre-order are now available and the record will be released on August 5th worldwide!

The new artwork for Dinosaur Jr‘s upcoming album “Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not”  has popped up on the Amazon UK website along with a uk release date of Aug 5, 2016. The full track listing is not yet available but I have heard two track titles are “Tiny” & “Love Is”.

One other interesting tidbit from the wonderful Loobiecore forums.

“i did have J play bass on one of my tunes  (played all gtr myself) on this LP.. the next step would be having J drum on my demos and consult with him on song structure etc. which i would prefer to do simply for quality sake, he has a terrific sense of composition and drumming hooks..” – Lou

You can pre-order at Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not Amazon now but there may be some direct bundles available from Dinosaur Jr / Jagjaguwar soon so you may want to hold off.

Talk about a whirlwind of amazing evening. Just at the halfway point of the week long Dinosaur Jr 30 shows the special guests have included Frank Black, Henry Rollins, Fred Armisen, Charles Bradley, Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Eleanor Friedberger, Scott Helland, Jeff Tweedy, Spencer Tweedy, Jesse Malin & Valarie June. Each night the band has kicked off the show by playing the debut album followed by a set of other favorites and covers. So far there has not been a ton of videos from the sets posted but I’ll keep updating these with more as they become available.

This week Dinosaur Jr will be playing seven consecutive SOLD OUT shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City to commemorate 30 years of being a band. It’s going to be a massive party. To coincide with this event TANK, a sister company of 1939 skate, is releasing a Dinosaur Jr skateboard, featuring Arik Roper artwork. For those lucky enough to to have gotten tickets to the sold out shows, there will be 70 band signed boards available at the merch table. For the unlucky ones, they are offering a limited number of the boards up through their website right now for pre-order. The official release of the board will be in January but we will have a small amount to ship out on December 15th. THESE WILL GO FAST!!!!  They also have a Witch Board and Shirt for sale on the site too.

Dinosaur Jr is no stranger to skateboarding for sure!  SkateVideoSite.com and Slappy Blast have listings of Dinosaur tracks that have appeared in skate films over the years.

Dinosaur 30th Anniversary

Brooklyn Vegan Pre-sale will start today at Noon EST! Check there for the password.

Dinosaur Jr will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a six-night run at Bowery Ballroom from December 3 – 8. At each show the band will perform their debut album, Dinosaur, in full, followed by a set of songs from throughout their career. There will be “very special guests” sitting in each night.
