I’m thinking about taking a vacation and going there maybe like a week or something….don’t know. Probably end up getting a bus ticket there and back or something. Anywho…just think I should try to do things while I can you know? Someone let me know something!

May 16, 2007 at 3:14 am #128903You can stay with my grandma. She lives in Worcester.
May 16, 2007 at 6:13 pm #128904You might like Amherst, it’s in the middle of nowhere. I visited J a while back and we had lunch in his backyard, I think it may have been his parent’s house. I went with David Michael Curry.

May 17, 2007 at 5:52 pm #128906On a serious tip, Amherst and Northampton are small, relatively quiet towns with some okay record and book stores (Mystery Train, etc.), as well as some good restaurants.
Boston is definitely more action packed, and has more of the standard shopping/eating/sight-seeing dealio. If you have any interest in American history, you can hit up some key sights in Boston. If shopping is your jam, Newbury St has a bunch of stores that might interest you.
May 18, 2007 at 12:30 pm #128907I live in Amherst. If you wanted *something* to do while here… check out the venues in Northammpton… go to http://www.iheg.com they run/own all the venues there.. Iron Horse, Pearl St, Calvin, and Pines Theater (Dylan will be playing there this summer).
In Amherst there is the Mulllins Center… check out Ticketmaster for that.
Food wise, I think Panda East in Amherst is good, so is ABC’s….Rao’s for coffee. Newbury Comics or Mystery Train for cds/records… Noho food, i LOVE the Mimmo’s (large) pizza by the slice place.. and uh… Indian House. Turn It Up records in Noho for used cds, check out Thorns Market. they have a record store in the basement, Dynamite Records.
There is a bike trail that goes through Amherst to Noho… if you ride bikes. THe scenery is nice, check out Skinner Mountain. You can see the Valley from on top there.
Or uh, you could do some indie rock legend sightings, its like bird watching out here, kinda. Only not.. Yeah.
May 18, 2007 at 5:27 pm #128908If yr in Boston and looking for a record store, In Your Ear is really good.

So, I need to figure out how much money I need to save up and all that. Then I need to work on saving up. I would like to have a friend to go with me as I’m tired of being alone already…plus I’ve never been there. I might get raped or something, you know? lol.Randy Jane

Well if you want to stay within Northampton, stay at the Hotel Northampton. If your trying to save money, don’t go to the Hotel Northampton.
OH, I like your icon. A lot.
May 20, 2007 at 3:01 pm #128911I have no idea what a Gilf is.
But I do know a lot of neat places to visit in Boston. Newbury Street is very nice. Quincy Market and Faleuil Hall are a must. I particularly enjoy the Museum of Science and the Aquarium. And if the weather is nice you might like to check out the Freedom Trail. And as far as public transportation the T-train is kind of old and noisy but it’s still reliable and get’s you where you need to go. Let’s see, what else? Uhm, hotels can be pretty pricey in Boston so I guess if you were on a budget you could stay near the airport and take the train into the city.
I like Boston. I hope you do too.May 20, 2007 at 3:14 pm #128912"girl " wrote:I have no idea what a Gilf is.
