Powderfinger* and Trasher are because of sentimental reasons my two fav’s. But I like the ragged glory pieces a lot too. After the goldrush is my favorite album though.

            * the first chord does the thing. E maj as I recall

First vinyl : The red double / The Beatles (LP)

First cd: Sgt Peppers lonely heartsclubband / the Beatles. ( it was in 1987 and I didn’t even had a cd-player yet, but I wanted that album to be my firtst; second was Donald Fagen / The nightfly)

First cassette was filled with things I recorded from the radio using a microfoon. I was 13

Ummm – I don’t think so. Lennon was straight man ::)

There is a lot of doubt about that ( bi-sexual), he even went on holiday with Brian Epstein alone ( there is a movie about that , ofcourse I don’t know the name of that film)

                                More examples of Beatles brilliance:

-Tomorrow never knows. By using tapeloops it was the first serious sampling technique
-I feel fine; using two sologuitars in one riff
-Hard days night – two different singers in one song ( Lennon the main part, McCartney the "when I’m home" part

Can go on for houres. Check out the Mark Lewisohn book: The complete beatles chronicle

Listen to Hey Jude / Beatles. at 2.58 – 3:00 While Paul is singing, you can hear John shouting "fucking hell", after breaking a string! They try to hide it, muted it a bit, but listen to it, you’ll recognize it.

                                  Okay not magical but still…….

Ah yes, my calculations show there are exactly 2,458,964 magic Beatles moments. I really shouldn’t get started on the Beatles but, a couple of my personal favorites:

Happinesss is a Warm Gun: George Martin brought up a track too quickly. Originally, John sang the "I need a fix" line twice, but the first was supposed to be left out in the release. The end of the first "down," though, ended up on the master.

Rain: This was the first song to use a tape played backwards, which created the strange audio effect. John Lennon discovered the technique when he put the tape for "Tomorrow Never Knows" on the wrong way. He was stoned at the time, and producer George Martin had to convince him that using a backward recording for the entire song was a bad idea.

                                  Duane your my man!
We could start a topic with: the first song ever to use…. and 90% will be a beatlesong ;) Might cost me a couple of karma"s :D
