I got backstage passes a couple of years ago, when Dinosaur Jr was touring with Watt. It was pretty funny… My friend and I went back and saw Watt and J talking (well, Watt was doing all the talking), and it was Lou who enthusiastically invited us in, welcomed us to grab something out of the cooler and hang out. We also got to watch them film part of the video for “Over It”. Specifically the part where “J” (AKA a stunt skater in a grey wig) hops across a table covered in glass bottles and crashed into the wall. It was pretty cool to be a part of all that. The only downer is that J really didn’t look like he was feeling well.
I don’t want to buy a Fuzz Munchkin, but I’d still love to see the schematics to see what the (likely very subtle) difference is between it and a vanilla Big Muff. I doubt the guy who makes the FM’s will divulge that (trade secrets and all), so I’ll just have to keep an eye out to see if anyone reverse engineers it. 😉 I’m not trying to steal Tym’s business by any means, but my curiosity regarding the guts of the FM is killing me.
We had a local place that was open for, well… ever, go under a few years ago. It was my go-to spot when I was in high-school / college in the 90’s. Sad to see it go, but even I only buy Dinosaur Jr CDs as physical discs, anymore, and only because I have them all going back to “Dinosaur” (original release). Everything else goes straight into Google Play, these days.
Oddly enough, I ended up working down the hall from the guy who used to manage said store, in my grown-up office job, a few years ago. Really cool guy. 🙂
AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!! This is so… frustrating to a pedal builder, like myself. I want to see the schematics and know why this one’s different. Yet, I am denied. 🙁

SG, amongst all the usual stuff, I’ve been really into some of the old Stray Cats rockabilly stuff, and even taking it a bit back further than that. I’d love to start incorporating some of that style into the stuff I write (without being pure rockabilly, since I’d find that limiting to my over-all anything-goes-as-long-as-I-like-it music tastes.
On a completely opposite note, I’ve landed in a Prog-ish sort of band (we call ourselves “Garage Prog”). It wasn’t really my style, at first, but a friend needed some guitar support. I’ve really grown to appreciate it and I’m having lots of fun (plus none of the rest of the band really comes from prog roots, so we are able to keep it stabilized in a unique balance of not-too-proggy). 😛

I just want to chime in and say that Johnny Depp might be a little too short to play Jeremiah. On that note, whoever plays SG will need to be towering as well. That’s one of the few things that I do know about SG, and Jeremiah as well. They are both above 6 feet in height.

Nice try, girl, but I kung-fu ninjas as part of my pre-breakfast workout (I also karate chop some zombies and wrangle robots). There’s just no using the old smoke-bomb trick against me. I saw you climb up into the air vent.
Anyway, the scuba duck project was approved months ago. I assume it’s proceeding as scheduled…Really, what kind of admin do you think I am? Do you think that I can just waltz back in here, after being gone for so long, and start throwing my considerable power around? Well, I totally can!!! So get those ducks in a row or it’s curtains for you! Curtains!!!
For a post-your-pic thread, this page seems to be lacking in the very reason for its existence. To help rectify that, I have included a somewhat blurry pic of Murph and I unintentionally making funny faces around a very tired and cranky J, that was taken backstage, back in April.
Also, for the record, SG does not have a face, per say. He’s a ghost in the machine. An intelligence that exists in the Internet, who also happens to be Canadian.
