I don’t like Gwen’s little harem thing either, but I’ll second Robert; there are many, many artists I’d go after first.
Toby Keith comes first, talk about a Racist. . .More from the Library System;
Uncle Tupelo- Still Feel Gone
Uncle Tupelo- No Depression
Neko Case- BlacklistedOh god, I’m old, I’m listening to ALT COUNTRY!
Worst I ever had was dried egg on the fork, but that shit happens, y’know.
I have some friends who work(ed) at Arbys. Apparently they’re in the habit of putting a strip of bacon on any sandwich ordered by a cop, regardless of the other ingrediants.

thats the one I recieved. I’d never heard Hot Jazz before, ergot.
Quote:that they used to go to the library and research old traditional songs(like the ones on March 16-20 1992 album)I assume it was the Belleville libraryI saw that in the book "Learning How to Die." It’s strange seeing people you personally know being interviewed in a book, Darin Gray actually lives a few blocks from me.
My Dad’s a Belleville native, so I’ve been in and around the town quite a few times. I could probably locate the Tweedy house if I wanted to. Belleville has two public library buildings, the main branch and then another more on the south and east side of town. Both are in pretty old neighborhoods. Both have been open since the ’60s or therebouts. I’m pretty sure the main branch is where all the vinyl is, though, it’s bigger anyway.June 8, 2005 at 8:38 pm in reply to: We saved our money in May to buy this cool stuff in June #109883Didn’t buy, ripped from the library system;
Uncle Tupelo: Anodyne
The Best of Django Reinhardt.Should have some Neko Cas and the other Uncle Tupelo albums coming through interlibrary loan. Funnily enough, Belleville library only has one UT album.

Oh, and I bought a two-disc "Best of ’80s New Wave" collection at Goodwill the other day. Now I can hear Corey Hart, the Vapors, and Missing Persons whenever I want!
April 11, 2005 at 6:13 pm in reply to: My Neighbours Should Pay Me For Playing This Great Music #100080Butthole Surfers-Hairway to Steven
Scratch Acid-The Greatest Gift
Mekons-Rock’n Roll
Pavement-Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Drive Like Jehu-Yank Crime
Lightning Bolt-Wonderful Rainbow
Emperor-Anthems to the Welkin at DuskThe Moldy Peaches are massivly overrated.
And I’ll add a +1 to Hella, but I haven’t heard the new album yet. They play Outkast on it (one member doing each disc). I do have their first album, it’s a total mindfuck.
April 9, 2005 at 10:18 am in reply to: My tax refund came, and it went (or things I got in Apr.) #108362I’ll probably owe on my taxes, but yesterday I got
Scratch Acid-The Greatest Gift ($5.99)
Mr Bungle-Disco Volante ($5.99)
fIREHOSE- Live Totem Pole ($2.99)Speeding Ticket-64mph in a 45mph zone ($75)
Back to back, not much. Although I’m proud to have Beat Happening and Slayer side by side in my collection.
I once had Windows Media Player on "all songs/shuffle" mode, and it went from Belle and Sebastian’s "This is Just a Modern Rock Song" to Tom Waits’ "Cemetary Polka."
Bit of a wakeup.
That show is from DC. . . it’s local access only. Hence Mr Mackaye being on it.
oh goodie, I’m two songs I’ve never heard by two bands I’ve never heard of.

Splurged, bought Camper van Beethoven’s "Key Lime Pie" for $7.99.
